Continue ReadingJune was a busy month recruiting-wise in the Garden State. As the calendar turned to July, expect the recruiting battles to heat up a bit. Barely a week into the new month, there were several noteworthy prospects who announced their commitment status since our last update in June. See who-is-going-where below.
Perhaps one of the final pieces of the 2023 recruiting puzzle to announce his commitment, this Cedar Creek Pirate is jumping ship. Pilgrim, a defensive back with great size (5’10” 175lbs), will be taking the pilgrimage up north to Massachusetts to suit up for East Coast Prep. When? Likely immediately. The post graduate program has several ties and commits out of New Jersey thus far – Pilgrim adds to their tally.
The renaissance of Paterson Eastside is no longer a secret. They are producing winning seasons, deep playoff runs, and talented athletes – Clyburn fits that mold. Profiling as an edge player, the 6’5″ 225lb physical specimen has made his decision as to where he will continue his education and athletic career. With a variety of schools to choose from – a handful of FBS and FCS alike – Clyburn will be heading up to Maine to play for the Black Bears upon graduating next June. My money says that Clyburn told the folks up in Maine that he is the type of player that they could lean on.
Massey is Paramus Catholic’s star wide receiver, the heartbeat of their offense. I am sure his teammates and coaches are relieved that he has decided his future home this early in the process so he can focus solely on football this fall. Deciding between universities like Akron, Gardner-Webb, Marshall, Robert Morris Robert Morris 5’9″ | 170 lbs | OL Plainfield | 2026 NJ , and Syracuse could be a daunting task; however, I am sure Massey took pleasure in it. Massey has decided to become a Minuteman, joining the UMass football team this time next year.
Prep Redzone’s #4 player in the state of New Jersey has decided where he intends to call home for the next four years – College Station, Texas. Also one of the top public school prospects in the class of 2024, Hornsby will be suiting up for Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M in just about one calendar year. The Aggies beat out schools such as Penn State, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, and Wisconsin to earn Hornsby’s commitment.
A recruiting update would not be complete with a lineman coming off the board, would it? This time next year Radosevich will be taking a short trip westbound on NJ 33 from Manalapan to Princeton to suit up for the Tigers. At this time it is unclear which other schools were in the mix, however make no mistake – this is a great choice both football-wise and academically for Radosevich. Extra kudos for staying home to play ball!
