Continue ReadingA standout linebacker for Summit, Tyler Kessel had an impressive season in 2022. With 120 total tackles, 20 of those for a loss, 5 sacks, an interception and a forced fumble, Tyler was a force for this defense. What stands out right away is Tyler’s size and height. He uses both to torment QBs and runners.
When he’s on the blitz, he pierces through the offensive line and makes the QB feel the pressure. He is a tall player that stands directly in the QB’s throwing path, setting himself up to swat the ball down or intercept it. Tyler brings the heat when in pursuit of the quarterback. He is capable of bringing them down quickly before they have time to set their feet. Tyler is a great technical tackler that will rack up an insane amount of tackles in 2023.
Highlights
Ryan Carracino
Ryan Carracino
Ryan Carracino is Cranford’s star on both sides of the field. Lining up as a outside linebacker, Ryan can bring a lot of pressure any time he is entering the backfield. He swallows up runners running his direction and is a very reliable tackler. Ryan will fight to get the ball carrier wrapped up.
Offensively, Ryan lines up as an H back. He is a big bodied skill player that is a reliable run and pass blocker as well as a downfield threat through the air. The man is a truck when the ball is in his hands. It requires a few extra defenders to get him to the ground. And as a blocker, he clears the path for any runner following him, and is sure to make defenders getting in his way regret it.
Ryan Schnall
Ryan Schnall
Ryan Schnall had an explosive 2022 campaign. The Summit RB was able to accumulate 823 all purpose yards and found the end zone 8 times. He is a quick cutter out of the backfield, and has break away speed once he hits the open field. Summit ran a unique lineup out of the backfield, and Ryan was able to utilize that to his full advantage through misdirection and great vision. He was able to determine the best path to take when dodging through defenders, and also has the ability to shake off arm tackles. A player that will fight for every yard, Ryan is looking for a possible 1000 yard season in 2023.
Marquis Diggs Marquis Diggs 6’0″ | 170 lbs | DB Rahway | 2024 NJ is one of this division’s best returning defenders for 2023. The Rahway cornerback has a great back peddle and the ability to quickly get out of it to make a jump on the ball. He is elusive in his movement and is able to mirror the receiver as he makes his way through multiple routes. Marquis is the type of corner you want to go one on one with the best the offense has to offer. Look for Marquis to snag a few balls out of the air in 2023.
