Today, we take a look at some big-time playmakers in the state of West Virginia in the class of 2024 for you to know. We tried not to highlight our top, higher-ranked players as much in this article, wanting to give a deeper dive into the state's top playmakers.

QB [player_tooltip player_id='865454' first='Matt' last='Frye'] (Scott)

The Madison quarterback is capable of making big plays both through the air and on the ground. He averaged 16.9 yards per attempt last season through the air while throwing for 33 touchdowns. On the ground, he added 476 rushing yards, including 9.5 yards per rushing attempt, and broke off a season-long of 80 yards. Good size at 6-foot-1 and 180-pounds with a quality speed as well, with a reported 40-yard dash of 4.69. True dual-threat abilities.

QB [player_tooltip player_id='370324' first='Maxwell' last='Molessa'] (Williamstown)

Good size with great vision and open-field speed. Rushed for over 1,200 yards last season while passing for 800. Molessa is an all-around great playmaker for Molessa and is going to be one of the bigger game changers this fall in the state.

RB [player_tooltip player_id='370255' first='Gage' last='Wright'] (Parkersburg South)

The Virginia Tech wrestling commitment is someone we recently highlighted. "He's a hard-nosed runner, and while he possesses quality speed, he also shows the physicality and ability to run through opposing tacklers". Averaged 11.2 yards per carry last season, totaling 29 touchdowns while also totaling 11.7 yards per reception.

RB Skyler Delk (Roane County)

Delk is a 6-foot-0, 185-pound running back Roane County who has a nice combination of size and speed. Not overly fast but quality speed with a 4.76 reported 40 time. Averaged 9.4 yards per carry last fall, including a long of 63. Had nine games of 100+ rushing yards as well as 23 touchdowns.

WR [player_tooltip player_id='880802' first='Maddox' last='Anderson'] (Tucker County)

A wide receiver that we've talked about already. Anderson is a tremendous receiver despite not being very big or fast. Great fundamental wideout who averaged 23.6 yards per reception last season en route to 1,134 yards and 16 touchdowns.

ATH [player_tooltip player_id='370425' first='BJ' last='Williams'] (Clay County)

Williams is probably best described as an athlete, but the shorter athlete will make plays happen no matter where he lines up. Last season he averaged 12.0 yards per reception and 5.4 yards per carry. Much like Anderson, he is not terribly big (5-foot-7, 160-pounds nor fast, 4.8 forty) but has a bit of twitchiness to his game.

WR [player_tooltip player_id='370325' first='Anthony' last='Valentine'] (George Washington)

The 5-foot-10, 200-pound wide receiver also has some good speed as well with a 4.59 forty time. Valentine averaged 6.4 yards per rush last season as well as 16.0 yards per reception last season, including a season-long of 68 yards.

WR Keohn Stephens JR (Wheeling Park)

Stephens had himself a nice showing at the Wheeling U camp earlier this month.

"He made the Wheeling U coaches take notice right away ripping off a 4.5 40, 3.2-yard broad jump, and a 4.31 shuttle time." He also measured in at 5-foot-11 and 154-pounds. Stephens Jr averaged 16.9 yards per reception last fall totaling 29 receptions for 490 yards.
