2024 Defensive Linemen Breakdowns

The review covers five of the defensive linemen in a talent-rich group that are preparing for their final season of high school football. The defensive linemen had solid performances throughout last season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='861450' first='Jack' last='O'Connell'] - 6'5" 220 (No. 16 DL, No. 164 Overall), Heritage HS.</strong> Jack displayed quickness out of his stance to make contact with blockers while moving past them for stops. He displayed good technique and good use of hands to control blockers. He was slowed by injuries but recovered to finish the season displaying D1 potential. Jack has received several D1 offers after the season ended. He is healthy and is expected to play at a high level throughout the upcoming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='908683' first='Bruce' last='White'] - 6'6" 225 (No. 17 DL, No. 165 Overall), Christ School. </strong> Bruce displayed quickness out of his stance to make contact with blockers while moving past them for stops. He displayed good technique and use of hands to control blockers. He played in a limited number of games during the past season. He received a D1 offer after participating in a prospect camp last week. Bruce is expected to play at a high level during the upcoming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='868145' first='Kaden' last='Thomas'] - 6'0" 200 (No. 18 DL, No. 167 Overall), Independence HS. </strong> Kaden displayed good technique and good use of hands to control blockers while moving past them for stops. He moved well in tight spaces to stop inside running plays. He finished last season with 86 total tackles, 50 which were solo tackles and 15 tackles for losses. Kaden has received a D2 offer during the offseason. He is expected to continue his high level of play during the upcoming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='760706' first='Nakoma' last='Scott'] - 6'4" 210 (No. 19 DL, No. 168 Overall), Lumberton HS. </strong>Nakoma displayed quickness out of his stance to make contact with blockers while moving past them for stops. He displayed good technique and good use of hands to control blockers. He finished last season with 52 total tackles, 31 which were solo tackles and 20 tackles for losses. Nakoma has received D2 offers during the offseason. He displayed good technique and good use of hands to control blockers. He finished last season with 64 total tackles, 22 which were solo tackles and 14 tackles for losses.
