Lang is an exciting prospect but one that isn’t talked about much. He sees a massive rise in the rankings going from unranked to ranked as a top player in the state.
At 6 ‘1 170 pounds freakish length and athleticism. It’s hard not to see why Laing is so high on this list, he has good length and movement ability. And is the type of athlete that can play any scheme a defensive coach asks. He can play the physical game and be a force as a run defender.
If we were projecting what he could be, if you were to build a perfect cornerback prospect Laing would be close to what you would be looking for. In addition to the malleable tools, he has in terms of his feet, speed, change of direction, and size. Laing is the best cornerback prospect in this class
Braheem has some of the best defensive back tape you’ll find in the state. He was of the cleaner prospects in this class and has the versatility to play safety and cornerback.
Braheem sets himself apart by being a technically sound player who can’t execute a multitude of coverage techniques and has the smarts and awareness to pass off and switch routers. Lastly Long has some of the best ball skills in this class and size to excel at the next level.
Long made a great decision for his future and recently committed to the University Of Syracuse. Syracuse recruits New Jersey hard and has a solid reputation for developing defensive backs who make it to the NFL.
Highlights
Brooks put us all on notice of what he can do in the Group One championship game taking over and being a monster and contested catch situations. He goes from the watch list to the 54th-best player in the state.
Brooks has all the physical tools to be a great wide receiver. His 6’3 frame and length build make him almost unguardable in jump ball situations. Brooks has the ability to take his game to the next level by improving his route running. Brooks is ready to take the next step in his senior year.
Joe is a prospect that is unique because of his versatility and his prowess in run defense. Asiain has been getting love from Power 5 programs because his best football may still be ahead of him.
Joe is a player who plays with great leverage and has an explosive first step. He separates himself with his relentless motor and his ability to be disruptive as a run defender. Much is left to be desired when it comes to his play as a pass rusher, but that is where the bulk of his improvement will come.
Asiain recently committed to Pac-12 powerhouse Stanford. Don’t be surprised if we see Joe play more on the interior than the edge at the next level.
The best third option who would start on any other high school football team in New Jersey. Lavan has all the high-end traits you want at the position.
His special abilities are using his footspeed to be dangerous after the catch and the ability to make tough catches in traffic. It’s bewildering to me as to why he doesn’t have an offer yet, maybe it’s the fact that he plays with two other Power 5 caliber wide receivers, but if you watched Millville’s games he’s every bit as good as the other two wide receivers.
Lavan is going to have another great year and it will be interesting to see which colleges see his talent and give him an offer.
