Who's Up Next: D1 Offers & Commits (2024- Defense)

We will see a lot of movement with the rankings being updated in the coming weeks. This off season has been telling with multiple athletes solidifying themselves as some of the state and region's top recruits.   Here we breakdown the Oregon 2024 athletes who have been offered or have committed to D1 universities. The number next to each athlete's name is where they are currently ranked. Kachel earned all-state honors on both sides of the ball as a freshman, being named the conference player of the year defensively last season. Look for him to add a few FCS offers in the not-so-distant future as West should be one of the better 5A teams in Oregon.    20.[player_tooltip player_id='152333' first='Lonnie' last='Burt'] Jr. 6-1 210 LB/RB Jesuit    Burt Jr. could be listed offensively here, as the 1st team all-league LB will likely lead the state in rushing yards this coming season as well. He is a freak athlete with size that has gone somewhat under the radar thus far. He comes from a great family with D1 genes.    24.[player_tooltip player_id='152334' first='Jace' last='Burton'] 5-11 150 CB Jesuit    Speaking of talented families. Jace projects on defense but killed it offensively earning 1st team all-Metro honors on both sides of the ball. Look for Burton to add multiple FCS offers while being a conference and state POY candidate on D.    30.[player_tooltip player_id='511314' first='Brayden' last='Welch'] 6-5 250 DE/TE Oregon City   The honorable mention all-conference DE/TE has had an outstanding off season, impressing on the camp circuit. You can't teach the size and overall versatility as he could very well could project at Tight End. OC could have one of their best seasons in recent memory.    32.[player_tooltip player_id='152347' first='Hatimu' last='Letisi'] 6-0 255 DE South Salem    Everyone talks about Letisi's size which is justified. That said as the 1st team all-league returner has been absolutely dominant all off season, beating numerous D1 O lineman time and again on the camp circuit. Look for him to get some FCS opportunities.    55.[player_tooltip player_id='738890' first='Wyatt' last='Wessel'] 6-3 220 LB Lebanon    Wessel is long and can move. He is an appealing recruit with a unique combination of size and speed. Look for the attention paid to [player_tooltip player_id='442249' first='Hayden' last='George'] to indirectly help the 1st team all-conference LB, who could be one of the top RBs in the state as well.    79.[player_tooltip player_id='511301' first='Evan' last='Morris'] 6-3 175 FS Sherwood    One of the fastest rising recruits in Oregon. Look for Morris to make a big jump when the rankings are updated, as you can't teach the length and the ground which he covers in the secondary. The sky's the limit for the 6-3 175-pound safety who will add some legit size before moving on collegiately.
