Continue ReadingRogers was a standout at the IAA Winter showcase this offseason, posting one of the fastest 20-yard shuttle times at the camp. In the 40 he runs a 4.58 and has a 31-inch vertical according to his hudl. His speed translates to his gameplay, he made plays all over the field for chevy-chase, closing on the ball quick. He had the longest interception return in the state last season, caused forced fumbles, showed sure tackling and aggressiveness. He is playing his last year at DeMatha, keep an eye out for him to contribute on the defense and draw the spotlight from college scouts.

Bowden was another player I had the opportunity to see this offseason at the Pylon Training Camp Series where he won defensive line MVP. DeAngelo was impressive for Dunbar at standup end, he’s very fast off the edge and has polished 1-on-1 technique. Bowden has transferred from Dunbar to St. Johns for the remainder of his high school career.
Brown was a nose guard on Spalding’s line 2 seasons ago, showed good power and was unlockable while in pursuit. He was relentless in pursuit; since then, it looks like he’s gotten a lot more explosive and faster which could take his game to the next level. During his Virginia Tech camp he looked really good doing drills, they offered him his second scholarship offer earlier this month.

Dorsey is a young DB on the DeMatha defense that got some varsity play least season and showed exactly why. He’s a big hitting DB with good size at 6’0 180lbs, with 2 full seasons to continue to grow. He’s been showing some ball skills this offseason on the 7on7 circuit, as well as last season showing some solid zone coverage at safety. This young safety could have a big year this season. He was most recently re-offered by Temples new coaching staff, giving him 3 total.
This young prospect is a quick and athletic defensive lineman, he’s one of the few that I’ve seen get a defensive touchdown. Barr has been tearing it up in 1on1s at his camps this offseason, Maryland and West Virginia to name a few. Barr showed glimpses of dominance at the JV level, expect to hear his name during the varsity games at Good Counsel this season.
