The football season is slowly but surely approaching and while the season gets closer, I wanted to take a look into some players within the state that are going under the radar, for now. With that being said, there are many other players that could have been included that are worthy.

[player_tooltip player_id='158374' first='Mario' last='Murphy'] - 2024 - DB - Garfield HS

Garfield is always stacked with talent all over the field, so not a lot of their players go under the radar and I would say Mario has made a name for himself in the state. I wanted to include him anyways, due to his talent. He made his talent known last year by playing lock down corner. He is aggressive on the field, finishing tackles all the way though. He has great speed as well, helping him stay with receivers.

[player_tooltip player_id='338812' first='Onyx' last='Carter'] - 2024 - DL - Yelm HS

Yelm is a very, very good team. They have so much talent all over the field and on the defensive line, Carter is a playmaker. He had many great performances last season, displaying his ability to get to the quarterback and stop the run effectively. He blocked multiple kicks on special teams last season as well, he's going to have a very good senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='179698' first='Darnell' last='Allen'] - 2024 - ATH - Mount Vernon HS

Darnell is a player who has started to get on peoples radars within the last year or so. He can play all over the field, being able to lineup as a WR, RB, CB, Safety, LB. Mostly playing the defensive back position, he wraps up ball carriers very well. He has great tackling technique and uses his strength to drag the opposing player down. He runs a 4.6 40 yard dash, so he can keep up with almost anyone in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='206284' first='Cade' last='Knutzen'] - 2024 - QB - Burlington-Eidson HS

Cade is a player who won't be flying under the radar for much longer, if he is still. He is calm and composed in the pocket but can also step outside the pocket and accurately hit his targets when on the run. He has great touch on his lob passes and can accurately hit his receivers when throwing it deep down the field. He is consistently improving, so I'm excited to see the strides he has taken this off-season.

Maddox Hodge - 2024 - DB - Black Hills HS

Maddox had a great junior year, showcasing to everyone that he is a top defensive back in the class. He tackles well, compiling over 40 during last season. He is quick and aggressive to the ball, being able to break up passes often. He reads the quarterback on opposing teams quickly, helping him have such a quick reaction to the ball. He made big strides last year on the field and I don't see that stopping.
