Continue ReadingRosario is a defensive back who knows how to locate the football in the air. Immediately, his highlight starts with him making two impressive interceptions, where he’s best utilized on the backend being able to get over the top of routes and make plays on the football.
He needs to improve his play in the box. He seems slow when attacking and reading downhill. And doesnt look to deliver punishment when he’s at the linebacker alignment. As a result, would love for him to be utilized more as a nickel/ free safety where he can make a difference as a force player in the run game. In addition, due to his 4.4 speed, short quickness, and acceleration, he has all the makings of an impact slot cornerback or outside corner.
Rosario recently earned his first offer from Saint Anselm University. Rosario has more potential as an impact corner than a safety. If he focuses on being a versatile cornerback who can play inside and outside, that would serve him well going forward.
The 2025 class is shaping into a class full of solid offensive lineman prospects and Elijah is one of the top players. Standing at an impressive 6’8 285 pounds Elijah is summed up as an athlete playing offensive line Specifically, plays right tackle and lacks nothing when it comes to athleticism; he has all the malleable tools you need to mold a solid offensive lineman at higher levels of football.
I came away impressed with his pad level when run blocking. Does a great job of keeping pad lows when blocking defenders that are significantly smaller than him. In addition, blocks well on the second level when he has to locate linebackers.
As a pass blocker, he specifically did a great job with awareness. Awareness in the sense he has many clips where he’s blocking more than one defender and is able to help his fellow lineman.
Elijah has earned some top Power 5 offers from Texas A&M, Miami, and Boston College. Meaning that they believe his best football is ahead of him. He has MUCH room for improvement as his pass-blocking technique is a mess right now from his hands, feet, and balance. However, I have every bit of confidence in this two-sport standout athlete to put in the necessary work to improve into a quality offensive lineman.
It’s always encouraging to see freshmen playing meaningful snaps on varsity and Blakley showed that he not only belonged but can have an impact on the entire defense.
Blakley is classified as a defensive back but the majority of his snaps are played as a linebacker. At 5’10 190 pounds Blakely is an explosive player who makes the most impact when he’s able to play downhill get low and make tackles. He is a solid one-on-one tackler and he has good athleticism when moving across the field.
Blakely has much time to develop and get better. Would to see him challenge himself to be an all-around safety by honing in on his coverage skills. He’s fantastic when reading and reacting downhill now he should take it a step further and be that guy in coverage. He has the quickness, short-area burst, and play at the catch point now we need him to put it together to take the next step.
Blakley earned offer from the University Of Pitt, West Virginia, and Michigan, as he develops I can easily see his Power 5 offer list grow substantially.
Portella is one the most underrated interior defensive line prospects in this class. One that jumps out for me when I watch his film is his ability to get off the ball quickly. He has a quick first step and uses that to his advantage, also adding his ability to use his 6’2 frame to create natural leverage for him to keep his pads low.
Another aspect that caught my eye when watching his film is how well-coached he is. He uses his hands well especially when withstanding double teams and holding up at the point of attack. In addition, he has one solid pass rush move he likes to essentially spam. He has one of the best swim moves I’ve seen from any high school lineman. However, in the same breath, I need him to challenge himself and broaden his pass-rush bag and add more moves to the toolbox.
Portella earned his first division one scholarship from Sacred Heart University. He has phenomenal tape and I’m expecting more offers to come rather quickly.
Watson seems to be a name that has North Jersey enthusiasts excited. With no varsity tape at the moment, when you watch the tape he does have it’s easy to see the talent. At 6’0 165 pounds, he can do everything you want a top receiver prospect to do to win. I came away impressed, specifically with his route running, ability his use his catch radius, and his ability to be fast and elusive with the ball in his hands.
Watson is shaping up to be the next great wide receiver for St. Peter’s Prep. He makes my summer scouting list because some colleges have already taken notice and offered him, like Akron, Boston College, Toledo, and LIU.
