Continue ReadingI still need to evaluate several senior receivers; However, I am confident the five in this article are Missouri’s best pass catchers in the 2024 class. With countless FBS offers between the five of them, it will be fun watching these coveted prospects choose their colleges sometime soon. Below, I detail why these prospects are some of the best playmakers in the state.
Marcus Neal Marcus Neal 6’1″ | 180 lbs | ATH Raytown South | 2024 State MO is a versatile prospect out of Raytown South High School. The speedy receiver holds eight division one scholarship offers according to his Twitter account. He has also visited Mizzou and Iowa. With offers from Kansas State, Iowa State, and SEMO look for Marcus to receive more offers in the region before 2024 gets here.
Marcus shows solid hands and good athleticism adjusting to back shoulder throws; Consistently adjusting outside his radius and winning 50/50 ball highlights Marcus’ good combination of contested catch and tracking ability. Marcus displays next level burst beating press coverage and wining vertically against man coverage with ease. Balance and quickness shown shaking defensive backs underneath before scoring gives coaches a preview of Marcus’ college ready run after catch ability.

Jayshawn Ross Jayshawn Ross 6’4″ | 230 lbs | ATH Liberty North | 2024 State MO is a highly talented prospect who is one of the best at his position on both sides of the ball. He recently released his list of top five universities that includes Michigan, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Nebraska. He received an offer from Florida State just this week, so expect Jayshawn’s recruitment to continue heating up this fall.
Jayshawn shows rare burst for his size separating on posts and 9 routes with defensive backs playing ten yards of off coverage. Jayshawn shows a great combination of hands and tracking ability utilizing a second gear to locate and highpoint the ball in the air. Strength shows overpowering press defenders, while balance allows him to stay upright through contested catches. Jayshawn’s power shows as a ball carrier, but athleticism allows him to evade defenders and create after the catch in small spaces.

David Dossett David Dossett 6’3″ | 190 lbs | WR Lee’s Summit | 2024 State MO is a big-time receiver who most recently was invited to a camp at the University of Houston. At my last count, David holds six FBS offers with his top five choices being Kansas, Mizzou, Kansas State, Arkansas State, and Wisconsin. Expect the Lee’s Summit star to be in a tight recruiting contest between some of the region’s top programs this fall.
David shows an athletic change of direction that allows him to create space and separate at the top of routes versus man defenders. Good tracking ability and athleticism allow David to adjust to the ball, however, a large radius and strong hands allow David to win 50/50 balls more often than not. David’s power and elusiveness displayed as a ball carrier combines to form a rare run after catch ability that will have him competing for touches early at the next level.
Ryan Wingo Ryan Wingo 6’2″ | 200 lbs | WR St. Louis University High | 2024 State MO is a true X receiving prospect out of St. Louis University High School. Ryan holds countless FBS offers and mostly recently returned from his second visit to the University of Texas. The nationally ranked receiving prospect has a highlight reel full of kick returns, catches, and defensive highlights. Ryan will be sure to have all eyes on him up until the minute he makes his commitment decision.
Ryan’s rare combination of size and athleticism shows keeping his balance after twisting and turning through traffic in the middle of the field. Ryan’s next level top gear shows running sluggo routes and splitting defensive backs in off coverage with ease. Ryan’s quickness wins at the line of scrimmage versus press coverage, but next level separation ability shows snapping off routes and gaining ground with a fluid change of direction at the break point.
Highlights
Jeremiah McClellan Jeremiah McClellan 6’0″ | 185 lbs | WR CBC | 2024 State MO is a nationally recognized receiving prospect coming off of back-to-back state championship victories. He released a list of top twelve FBS schools in April so keep an eye on his Twitter account to see if that list gets trimmed down soon. Jeremiah most recently visited Mizzou & Ohio State and he was also invited to next year’s Under Armour All-American game. Expect the offers and accolades to keep streaming in this fall for one of Missouri’s best prospects.
Jeremiah’s good footwork as a route runner and explosiveness shown separating from defenders at the top of routes highlights his next level separation ability. Jeremiah displays a good radius and tracking ability after utilizing his top gear to separate vertically from off defenders. Jeremiah shows rare playmaking ability with his effortless stiff-arms, lightning quick hesitation moves, and great vision as a ball carrier.
