Scouting Reports: LBs and DBs

Here are scouting reports on some of the Prospects we have playing at the Linebacker position and the defensive backfield. Be sure to check them out this season.   Tobin Smith: LB || 6'1 || 190lbs || Skyridge HS || c/o 2024   Player Profile: Smith has been playing football since the fourth grade. Favorite subject to learn is Math and loves to hit the gym and play the drums. A good student athlete that looks up to NFL All Pro Khalil Mack and wants to major in Business Finance.   Athletic Profile: Play quickness, COD, acceleration, movement and agility   Skill Set/Fit: Smith plays the SAM Linebacker position with the versatility to play EDGE and S.Safety in the Falcon's defense. Against the run, he shows initial quickness to read and react and lateral quickness to move along the LOS. Shows instincts and reaction in pass coverage. As a tackler, he shows range in movement and is a sure tackler with explosion. Overall, Smith has the athletic ability to play as a SAM/WILL Linebacker in a 4-3 defense or an EDGE player in a 3-4 defensive scheme.   Achievements: All State Honorable Mention   Recruiting: Has received no offers   Dallin Sweat: LB || 5'11 || 215lbs || Manti HS || c/o 2024   Player Profile: Sweat has been playing football since the fifth grade. Favorite subject in school is Math and loves the game of Football. A good student athlete that looks up to his Father and Grandfather as his role models and wants to major in Engineering.   Athletic Profile: Play quickness, COD, movement and agility   Skill Set/Fit: Sweat is an athletic player that plays MIKE Linebacker in the Templar's defense. Reads and react to stop inside run plays and lateral quickness to move along the LOS to stop ball carriers on outside runs. A sure tackler with explosion. Overall, Sweat can play the MIKE Linebacker position in a 4-3 or 3-4 defensive scheme.   Achievements: Honor Roll with a 4.0 GPA, All State in Football and Wrestling   Recruiting: Has no offers at this time   Ashton Archuleta: DB || 5'11 || 180lbs || Bonneville HS || c/o 2024   Player Profile: Archuleta has been playing Football for six years. Enjoys learning about Math and loves to go Skiing. A good student athlete that looks up to his Uncle Riley as his role model and wants to pursue a career in Aviation.   Athletic Profile: Quick feet, play quickness, COD, movement and agility   Skill Set/Fit: Archuleta plays the Corner position in the Laker's defense. Shows ball skills to track and judge the ball downfield. Quick feet to backpedal, mirror receiver and fluid hip turn. Has COD to plant and drive. Can play both Man and Zone coverages. Overall, Archuleta has the athletic ability to play Nickel or Safety in a 4-3 or 3-4 defensive scheme.   Achievements: 4.0 GPA Student   Recruiting: Has no offers. Has been in talks with Idaho State and Weber State. Favorite subject in school is History and loves to hang out with his friends. A good student athlete that looks up NBA legend Kobe Bryant and is undecided on a major.   Athletic Profile: Quick feet, play quickness, COD, agility and movement   Skill Set/Fit: Taylor is an athletic player that plays the Safety position in the Titans defense. Shows toughness and willingness to tackle in the open field. Ball skills to track and judge the ball downfield. Quick feet and fluid hips. Ability to COD to plant and drive. Overall, Taylor has the athletic ability to play Linebacker in a 4-3 defensive scheme. Favorite subject in school is Math and loves to play Pickleball. He's a good student athlete that looks up to his Father as his role model and wants major in Finance.   Athletic Profile: Quick feet, play quickness, COD, agility, and movement   Skill Set/Fit: Nelson is an athletic player that plays the Corner position in the Trojan's defense. Shows ball skills to track and judge ball downfield. Quick feet to mirror receivers, fluid hips, and COD to plant and drive. Ability to play both man and zone coverages. Willingness and toughness as a tackler. Overall, Nelson's athletic ability will allow him to play Nickel and Safety at the next level.
