I have watched the highlights of a few of these guys before and wanted to take a second look at their game and really get a feel for their skill set. I came away really impressed with all these guys and will make sure to go see the play in person this season.
Braylon Isom Braylon Isom 6'3" | 195 lbs | ATH Saginaw Heritage | 2024 State MI – Saginaw Heritage- Hudl
Isom has been one of my favorite players to evaluate this offseason. Isom is so good at coming down with contested catches. He is very good at getting defenders to bite on double moves. Isom is excellent at getting off press man coverage. He has a fluid release off the line of scrimmage and it helps him run his routes quickly. Isom has very good hands and has no problem adjusting his body to make catches on passes thrown a little off target. I love that he can locate passes thrown over the shoulder. Isom is great at winning 50/50 balls in the endzone as well.
Braylen Naves Braylen Naves 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Davison | 2025 State MI – Davison- Hudl
Naves has good long speed and it helps him to get past defenders on vertical routes. Naves does a good job of getting up field quickly after the catch and picking up yardage in a hurry. Naves can get out and make blocks in the open field. He also shows the ability to sustain the block in the open field as well. Naves has good play strength and it certainly showed up on a play he fought throw pass interference to make a catch on a deep ball. I like how he can change direction quickly and it helps him when running slant routes.
Connor Brown- Lapeer- Hudl
Brown is a very good route runner who does a good job of getting defensive backs to commit one way so that Brown is free the other way. Brown is athletic and shows the ability to reach and dive for balls thrown a little far ahead of him. Brown has good speed and shows that he can stretch the defense vertically. Brown is very good after the catch and his strength allows him to fight off tackles. I love how effective Brown is from the outside and in the slot. It is fun to watch Brown catch passes from Lapeer‘s quarterback Zak Olejniczak Zak Olejniczak 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Lapeer | 2024 State MI who is a very talented player. It will be exciting watch these two connect for big plays next year.
Matthew Evans Matthew Evans 6'3" | 170 lbs | WR Grand Blanc | 2025 State MI – Grand Blanc- Hudl
Evans is a very good blocker who shows the ability to drive a defender into the ground, out of the play. Evans has good size at 6-3, 170 lbs. He has good speed and his long strides help him cover ground in a hurry. Evans certainly has the ability to jump up over defenders and come down catches. Evans has good body control and can break down and work back to the ball on comeback routes with ease. Evans is a very good player who will play a big role for the Grand Blanc offense.
