Region VII-2A
Academic Magnet Raptors
Jackson Ethredge LB – Ethredge is the Raptors leading returning tackler with nearly eight per game. He plays with aggression and has the ability to make plays on the interior as well as the perimeter. Ethredge will also see time on offense.
Bishop England Bishops
Cavan Craig Cavan Craig 5'11" | 200 lbs | K Bishop England | 2024 State SC K – The Bishops graduated 25 seniors from last season so they’re re-tooling for 2023. The most known commodity right now is Craig, the highest rated specialist in the 2024 Class. Craig has a strong leg and handles the punting and kicking duties for Bishop England. He has a 59-yard field goal to his credit. He will be a weapon while the Bishops figure things out.
Lake Marion Gators
Zac Gooden QB – The Gators will have a youth movement this season and Gooden will be counted on to move from linebacker and running back into the quarterback position vacated by the graduated Navian Hilliard. Gooden is only a sophomore but has decent size. He will use the summer to hone his passing skills. Gooden can take off and run when needed but the Gators will need him to throw it consistently as well.
Oceanside Collegiate Landsharks
Edward Reidenbach QB – Talk about making a splash? Reidenbach wasn’t expected to be the Landsharks QB last summer but because of injury, he was given the opportunity. He passed for more than 2,000 yards and 16 touchdowns and he ran for 580 yards and 19 scores to lead Oceanside Collegiate to a Class 2A state runner-up finish. He’s a little bigger and stronger this season and could have a monster senior season.
Timberland Wolves
Kylen Brown QB – Brown will be a 4-year starter and he’s progressed every year. He should be the signal-caller for the Timberwolves, but the coaching staff is also looking to use him in other ways. He also played corner last season and that is his future on the collegiate level. He had 37 tackles and 12 pass breakups.
