REGION V-4A
AC Flora Falcons
Albert Perkins Albert Perkins 6'1" | 210 lbs | LB AC Flora | 2024 State SC LB
While the Falcons’ defensive line gets attention, one of the team’s best players could be at linebacker. The 5-foot-10, 210-pound rising junior had 63 tackles in seven games and was arguably the team’s most impactful player during the spring. His meteoric rise has served as a pleasant surprise for head coach Ken Floyd.
Irmo Yellow Jackets
Fresh off winning a state title as a point guard for the boys’ basketball team, Brand seeks to have similar success on the gridiron. The rising junior has more than 10 offers, the latest being UNC Charlotte, and was ranked as one of the 10 best quarterbacks at the Elite 11 Camp held May 13 in Atlanta. He’s also added 20 pounds of muscle to his six-foot, 200-pound frame which he hopes will make him an even more effective runner out of the pocket.
Lugoff-Elgin Demons
The rising senior played a key role in the Demons’ four-game win improvement in 2022. An emotional leader at inside linebacker, he tallied 125 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks as he disrupted offenses with his aggressive, fast-striking play. He earned praise from the coaching staff for his on-field focus and commitment to studying the game.
Richland Northeast Cavaliers
The rising junior continues to receive college offers. This past week, the University of South Carolina made it 10 schools which have expressed heavy interest in the 6-foot-1, 215-pound Wilson. He showed his dual threat ability last season with 1,797 passing yards and 14 touchdowns to go with 705 rushing yards and 14 scores.
Ridge View Blazers
Jordon Gidron Jordon Gidron 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Ridge View | 2026 State SC WR
(Pictured) One of the youngest potential MVPs in the region has also received college interest. At 6-foot-2, he has the size, reach and athletic ability to help stretch the Blazers’ offense. He’s also one of the fastest runners in his classification.
Westwood Redhawks
Dekontee Mack Dekontee Mack 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Westwood | 2025 State SC DL
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound rising junior is the second-ranked defensive lineman in the Prep Redzone Class of 2025 class. He’s coming off a sophomore campaign where he finished with 24 tackles, 14 quarterback hurries, three sacks and two forced fumbles. A two-sport athlete, Mack’s strength and large build has made him a handful upfront and as he continues to develop at the position will continue to improve to add to his sack and tackle numbers.
