The players listed are straight dawgs who have shown their skills on the field and who have the abilities to take over games in order to help their teams win. With so much talent in the area, it can be easy to overlook some of these guys but just know they are out here balling. Make sure to keep these players on your radar as they go through the offseason and prepare for their senior years.
Eric Sanchez
Eric Sanchez
Sanchez does some nasty work out of the slot where he can use his quickness and shiftiness to separate from defensive backs. He causes real issues in space and has an extra burst out of his breaks that leaves defenders stuck in mud. Sanchez racked up 264 yards on 18 catches along with 3 touchdowns last season. He showed his ability to take advantage of mismatches and the ability to be a reliable target for his quarterback when he is needed. Expect to see his role increased and for him to have a big summer coming up.
Austin Abram
Austin Abram
As one of the top playmakers in the area, Abrams makes things happen when plays look like a sure lost. He is an excellent runner in the open field, switching gears and outrunning defenses on his way to the endzone, and just an overall threat to score anytime he touches the ball. Abrams RAC is one to watch for. His vision and ability to find the spaces help create those big time plays. He can play inside or outside and knows how to find the weak spots of a secondary. Abrams hauled in 16 catches for a very impressive 545 yards and 8 touchdowns. Big things are in store for both he and the Westfield offense.
Explosive off the snap with great drive, Baker has shown to be one of the top playmakers not only on the team, but in the area as well. He is a deep threat with the speed and quickness to run right by a secondary. Baker has very good wiggle and on his breaks can create much space by sticking a foot into the ground/ Baker tallied up 610 yards on 31 catches and 4 touchdowns for his junior year. Baker plays a major role in the offense and his big play ability will continue to be a factor in the teams success. Expect him to go crazy this summer and next season.
Nick Brown
Nick Brown
Brown stretches the field and is a nightmare in one on one coverage. You want to see speed, go watch the tape. Brown’s explosion off the snap gets him on the DBs toes quick and from there is game over. Defenders cannot even get hands on him as he blows right by for a big gain. Brown is a gamechanger waiting to break out and nothing but positive things come with the ball in his possession.
Connor Porter
Connor Porter
Porter went for 634 yards on 40 catches along with 9 touchdowns. He showed to be one of the teams top playmakers last season with his ability to create positive plays after the catch and be a consistent safety net for his quarterback. Porter showed to be a threat at every level, and make something big happen from a short completion. He can line up in the slot or on the outside and cause havoc for a secondary with his play. He is a player to keep eyes on for the summer and heading into next season.
Tristen Brown
Tristen Brown
Brown plays at a different speed and his skill is unmatched on the field. He high points the ball very well and is ridiculous on contested catches. Brown tracks the ball with excellent precision and shows strong, confident hands. He is unafraid of the middle of the field and plays with great physicality at the receiver position. Brown does it all on the field to give his team a chance to succeed. He is great in the return game, setting up the team in excellent field position on the opportunities he gets, and is just a player who can flip the momentum when the ball is in his hands. He finished his junior year with 35 catches, 988 yards, and 14 touchdowns. Brown has shown that he is that guy and expect him to continue his accent into the top named talents in the area and state.
