Coach Silva’s Shining Spotlight: 2026 “Osiris Lopez”
My Spotlight interviews are dedicated and designed to attract a college coach’s attention and provide additional recruiting exposure to New England High School Football recruits. The interviews provide a bit of background on a specific recruit during their High School Varsity playing years. The interviews include questions to recruits about the recruitment process and their current status within the process. It involves asking a set of questions that allow College Coaches who may be interested in the recruit, to learn more about the recruit on a personal level.

Leominster High School, Massachusetts
Osiris Lopez Osiris Lopez 6’1″ | 175 lbs | QB Leominster | 2026 State New E He is coming off a very strong and productive freshman 2022 season. He earned the starting Varsity quarterback position as a freshman in 2022. His weekly performances grabbed my attention early in the 2022 season. He is a solid young athlete with the ability to be a special high level Div 1 college prospect. His skill set just pops in a live setting. Has excellent athleticism and advanced knowledge of the game at a young age.
He was ranked as our # 4 QB in New England in the class of 2026 when our updated rankings were released in April 2023. Since the release of our New England updated rankings, he has attended several college football camps. His performance at these camps along with last season play, helped earn him early college scholarship offers. These offers include schools such as University of Connecticut , University of Massachusetts and Boston College. He will surely see a boost in our next updated rankings which is scheduled for August 2023.
He stands 6’1″ approximately 185lbs and attends Leominster High School in Massachusetts. When I viewed his 2022 season film, his high level athleticism grabbed my attention!! Hudl Video is at the bottom of this article. rnI project this young man is just scratching the surface to the amount of (Div 1 FBS) schools that will be taking an interest moving forward.
This young man has a very high ceiling and is one that many college coaches will soon get to know. It’s just a matter of time before additional college coaches will come on board and begin to recruit this young man. His character is solid and he is a true competitor who looks to work and be challenged each time he hits the field. He is also versatile and has ball hawking abilities combined with athleticism that shines as a defensive back/safety.

Lopez: Coach Silva: Have you received any interest/offers from colleges?
Lopez: I have received an offer from UConn, Umass and Boston College after a great camp with them. Many colleges are interested in me and have let me know that. They all are recruiting me for the Quarterback position.
Coach Silva: Who are some people in your family that have persuaded you or supported you to play football? Lopez: My entire family has always supported me to play football and persuaded me to keep playing football because they know this is what I wanna do.Coach Silva: Was 2022 fall season your first year as a Varsity starter?Lopez: Yes, The 2022 season was my first year as a starter because that was my first year in high school. I have three more years to go.Coach Silva: You are 6’1 and weigh approximately 185lbs. Do you study any College or NFL QB your size? Hall: I do not study anyone in the NFL my size, but I do study Patrick Mahomes because we both have the same play style. So I like to style my game around him.Coach Silva: Do you play any other sports? If yes.. What position do you play in the other sports? Does anything in other activities or sports translate and help you in football? Hall: I also play basketball and thinking about baseball next season. Right now, I play varsity basketball and my coach, Kevin Grutchfield will have me play the 3-5 position so basically the SF, PF, and center spot now and then depending on who we play that game.
Highlights
Coach Silva: Does anything in the other activities or sports translate and help you in football?
Lopez: I’ve been playing flag football since kindergarten to 8th grade and I think that’s helped me so much to understand the game and get me into it. Also, I feel as if flag football has helped me develop myself as a quarterback and is a big part of my elusiveness and way to avoid the rush. Flag football was definitely a big help in my career and has helped me get where I am today.
Coach Silva: What are your strengths in relation to your football skill’s?
Lopez: I would say my strengths are like on the run throws and like evading the rush. That’s because I feel like growing up in youth football, I’ve never really had a good O-line. So I would always have to roll out and throw on the run or just take it my self. That is a strength of mine that I know I can get an easy 5+ yards or more every time I use my legs.
Coach Silva: What are the things that you are trying to improve on to help your football skills?
Lopez: I’ve been working with M2 Academy as much as I can. Coach Mike; has helped me with all my mechanics, along with footwork and drills to do at home to help me improve my game because there’s always room for improvement.
Coach Silva: If you had to compare yourself to a college or NFL player, who would that be?
Lopez: If I were to compare myself to a quarterback in the NFL or College ball I would say I relate the most to Patrick Mahomes II. We both are a pass first quarterback, but if we need to run it we can get those easy yards and more. The way he avoids the rush and can make some ridiculous throws, I feel as if I do the same type of movements and throws in my game. Anyone can see that if they came to watch me play. A lot of people say I look like him to which is pretty funny.
Coach Silva: What are your individual goals as you prepare for the 2023 fall season.
Lopez: My individual goals for the 2023 season is for me to complete more passes than I did in the 2022 season. I want to do this while also increasing my passing yards and especially my rushing yards. I feel during the 2022 season, I was just taking the stuff they gave me when I know I can get more yards. So this year, I’m running hard while protecting myself from unnecessary contact.
Coach Silva: Is there anybody that you need to thank for putting you in position that you are in today?
Lopez: I would like to thank Coach Steve Martin for making me into who I am today along with Coach Devin Gates, Coach Aaron Canterbury they have helped me throughout my high school career year so far to make me be the best me there is and with all my recruiting. I would also like to thank all the M2 staff I’ve ever worked with for always having me improve on everything. Most importantly I would like to thank my family for bringing me to all these camps and visits and making this all possible. My Mom and my 2 older brothers have made me who I am today and I really appreciate everything they ever did for me and everything that they do in the future for me.
Coach Silva: How are your academics?
Lopez: My current GPA is about a 3.67 working on getting that even higher.
Coach Silva: What do you want to tell the college coaches taking interest in you, and recruiting coordinators reading this article?
Lopez: I would like to tell all college coaches and any recruiters that are reading this article, that I’m always down to compete and show out for whoever wants to take the chance on me. I don’t have hate for any school and my recruitment is 100% open. If you’re a coach that wants to give me an opportunity to show you who I am, and what I’m about, I’ll come and show you I’m ready to be coached and compete with whoever. I will never back down from a challenge!
Coach Silva: Are u planning to do any summer camps this year?
Hall: So far in the 2023 year I’ve gone to UConn, Duke, Umass and Boston College. I’m planning to attend Rutgers camp this summer. Can’t wait to compete and show out for coaches.
