It’s only been a few months since the previous Class of ’25 rankings update was released, but this upcoming junior class continues to impress, and their progress deserves to be recognized. Especially from the top of the rankings.
Typically in the state of Kansas, each recruiting class over the years has been headlined by only a few players at a time. This however isn’t the case for the Class of ’25. The amount of D-I level talent this class already contains before their junior year is astonishing. There’s currently around 10 prospects holding multiple offers, and these five have been the ones leading the pack. We didn’t cover the Top 5 in the March update, so here’s a look at how this elite group has progressed over the past few months.
Through yet another update, Jayden Woods Jayden Woods 6’3″ | 235 lbs | DL Mill Valley | 2025 State KS of Mill Valley continues to be the consensus No. 1 overall prospect from our Class of ’25 rankings. This off-season Woods has added size while also maintaining his elite athleticism. The 6-foot-3 edge rusher is now up to 235 pounds, and has reported 40-yard dash times in the low 4.6 range, as well as a 34-inch vertical. The Power 5 offers have continued to roll in for the top-ranked prospect as well. Since the March update, Woods has received offers from Alabama, Minnesota, Ole Miss, Penn State, and Tulsa.
There’s a bit of a shakeup at the No. 2 overall spot in this update, as top-ranked tight end, DaSaahn Brame DaSaahn Brame 6’6″ | 230 lbs | TE Derby | 2025 State KS of Derby, moves up from No. 3 in the class to No. 2. Brame has been on a mission this off-season to prove that he’s more than just a blocking tight end. It’s safe to say he’s rested his case, and folks are now fully aware of his athleticism and pass-catching ability. This past spring he earned a Four-Star rating from 247Sports, and since the previous update he’s been offered by Power 5 programs such as Auburn, Louisville, Miami, Michigan State, Minnesota, Oregon and many others.
Following closely behind Brame at No. 3 overall is Julian Marks Julian Marks 6’7″ | 275 lbs | DL St. Thomas Aquinas | 2025 State KS of St. Thomas Aquinas. Marks is not only regarded as one of the top defensive tackles in the state for the ’23 campaign, but in the entire country as well. He’s been labeled a Four-Star prospect by a few recruiting sites such as ESPN300 and On3.com. This prestigious ranking came after Marks impressed at the Under Armour Next Showcase in April, which then landed him multiple offers from some notable Power 5 programs. The 6-foot-7, 275-pound defensive tackle added Michigan, Penn State, and the University of Southern California to his long list of D-I offers.

The No. 4 spot in the rankings continues to be held down by none other than top-ranked wideout, Bryson Hayes Bryson Hayes 6’0″ | 180 lbs | WR Maize | 2025 State KS . The speedster from Maize has had a full calendar from the end of May and through most of June. Hayes has wowed coaches at multiple camps, and he’s taken campus visits to both Kansas and Kansas State, as well as the University of Nebraska. As a result, Hayes’ list of Power 5 offers continues to grow after adding Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, and Nebraska to the mix. In addition to earning these offers, Hayes also received a Three-Star rating from 247Sports earlier this month.

The No. 5 overall spot now belongs to a familiar face. Caden Butler Caden Butler 6’0″ | 180 lbs | WR Lincoln | 2025 State CA of Olathe North has worked his way back into the Top 5 after being ranked No. 7 overall in the previous update. Butler has arguably had one of the best off-seasons out of any prospect in this class. After stringing along three dominant showcase performances during this off-season, Butler now has everyone’s attention. His stock blew up at the beginning of June, as he picked several Power 5 offers and he most recently received an offer from Washington State. Butler and Hayes truly are 1A and 1B when it comes to the top wide receiver ranking.
