Coming fresh off winning a state championship where he had a stellar 2nd half performance Cash McCollum Cash McCollum 6’4″ | 210 lbs | QB China Spring | 2024 State TX is finally getting the recognition he deserves. Having picked up several offers this offseason, most recently the University of North Texas, Cash is still hungry to prove that he’s the best QB in the class of 2024. Look for China Spring led by Cash McCollum Cash McCollum 6’4″ | 210 lbs | QB China Spring | 2024 State TX to make another push at a state title as he continues to make a name for himself and elevate even more as a national recruit.
Coming off a season where he played through an injury Jaydon Smith Jaydon Smith 6’0″ | 170 lbs | WR Ingleside | 2024 State TX still managed to put up magnificent numbers with 50 receptions, 1056 yards, 21 touchdowns and 1 PR for a touchdown. As a regional qualifier in the long jump and triple jump Jaydon broke a few of his high school records. I spoke with Jaydon’s coach and he stated that “Jaydon is a versatile athlete who can do many things on the field and has great ball skills and can go up and grab anything in the air.” As a two sport athlete I look to see Jaydon prove that he’s one of the best in South Texas history.
Dontae Carter
Dontae Carter
As he continues to get closer to his commitment date Donate Carter is still locked in to trusting the process and still putting in work on and off the field. He’s not letting him take official visits this summer keep him from training as he prepares for his big announcement and big senior season. July 8th Carter will be choosing between 1 of 18 of his scholarship offers. As Steele HS looks to bounce back after last seasons playoff loss, I look for Carter to continue where he left off last season with 7+ ints as well as one of the most respected DB’s in the San Antonio area.
Alberto De La Garza
Alberto De La Garza
Coming from a smaller town where football isn’t always talked about is no problem for De La Garza who just recently started playing the DB position. In the last year he’s managed to go from unknown prospect to one that a lot of coaches are starting to ask questions about. With his 6’1 frame in the secondary he definitely passes the eye test from the moment he steps foot on the football field. Moving forward as he helps lead the charge in that Uvalde secondary accompanied by safety Elijah Carroll, De La Garza needs to continue to check certain boxes as he makes a case for why he can be one of the best at what he does.
Ty Hawkins
Ty Hawkins
With his most recent commitment to TCU, Ty Hawkins is a QB amongst QB’s. After coming off his first year as a full time QB at SA Johnson, Hawkins is that of a walking highlight reel. He has the arm strength, poise and accuracy of a seasoned vet. This two sport athlete is as amazing in football as he is in baseball. Any team that’s game planning for Hawkins needs to know you have to prepare for his feet just as much as you have to prepare for his throwing ability.
