Today, we’re going to take a look at 2025 West Virginia prospects that we’re going to be watching closely this summer in hopes to see how they perform and how much they can increase their individual stocks.
First, let me introduce myself. My name is Dylan Callaghan-Croley, I originally started with PrepRedzone as a scout for our Pennsylvania site where I still help out, however, I am going to begin writing about West Virginia starting this month and I’m excited to get underway. I’ve been with PrepRedzone for nearly three years now and on top of that, I also write for Rivals as a recruiting analyst. You can follow myself and all my work on Twitter.
Excitingly, starting out with a new state also means I will be watching many of the prospects for the first time, so if something has been said before on here with our other staff, I do apologize for any repeats but with that, let’s get underway.
With Breeden, the first thing that sticks out is his tremendous size. While we see a lot of prospects at the higher level at 6-foot-6 and pushing 300-pounds, it’s really not all that common so when you see someone the size of Breeden that’s automatically something that sets off the bells and whistles.
The scary part about Breeden is that it looks like there’s plenty of room on his frame to add even more weight. He also moves quite well for someone his size, he has a nice first step and powerful first punch as well. At 6-foot-6, he’s playing guard for Martinsburg and shows really nice athleticism in his pulls and getting down field as a blocker. His run blocking looks strong and his pass blocking looks to be of quality as well.
I’m excited to watch more and to learn more about Breeden going forward. Definitely think he’s an FCS level lineman at the very least with the potential to play FBS football as well.
Highlights
Hatfield is a nice sized quarterback with his tall and length 6-foot-3 frame. I’d be interested to see his stats when it comes to completion percentage but there is quite a bit to like based off his film. He shows to be a good athlete with good lower body strength, showing the ability to fend off his blockers. He throws a quality deep ball with a good spiral on it and does so with anticipation. Good vision as a runner as well, always looing for an open hole and has the agility and hip fluidity to change direction without losing a ton of speed.
Also shows to be a plus defender with good ball skills as a safety, but his best position in my opinion is at quarterback. The mechanics can be a little inconsistent but mechanics can be fixed over time. the athleticism is there and the arm strength is solid. Interested to see how he continues to develop heading into his junior season.
Franscisco stands in tall with a 6-foot-4 frame with good arm length and upper body strength. There are times you can see him fending off opposing offensive lineman with one arm which is impressive no matter what level you play at.
Athleticism is solid for a big defensive tackle and he has more weight to put on as well, could easily see him getting to the 300-pound range. Has a good motor and will fight through multiple offensive lineman to get into the backfield. All in all, he moves well for someone his size, if he can manage his good weight and bad weight, he could be a dangerous piece in the middle of a defensive line at the next level.

Sack already holds one FBS offer and there going to be plenty of more to come for the running back prospect. His tape is a rally fun one. He plays bigger than his size and he has the athleticism and speed that makes him a dangerous lightning-and-thunder type running back. He’s the best player on the field week in and week out and he plays like it. The sky might be the limit for Sack.

Quality size defensive lineman who has more weight to add on to his frame. Hard to say where he projects to at the next level, if he adds more weight he’s getting closer to a defensive tackle. Either way, good athlete with a first quick step, shows the ability to get consistent leverage as well as being able to chase down ballcarriers. Really impressive lineman over with superb strength. Definite chance to be an FBS level lineman.

I actually got to see Jacobs at our PrepRedzone PA showcase in May and he was impressive. He was one of our better linebackers in the showcase. Fluid and athletic linebacker with good footwork and agile hips. Shows good straight line speed and has legitimate 6-foot-0 size. Has a chance to really develop into a FCS / FBS linebacker over the next two years.

I’ve been told Ellis is actually a 2024 prospect but I’m going to keep him in here. Superb offensive lineman.rnWe’ve highlighted a few defensive lineman already but what about another offensive lineman?
Ellis has elite size at 6-foot-5 and 310-pounds who could play both inside and outside at the next level. Moves very well for such a big offensive lineman as well. Long reach allows him to get hands on any opposing defender that comes his way and shows good upper body strength.
Has a strong foundation to his game and with development time at the next level has a considerably high ceiling.
The Huntington signal caller has a great frame at 6-foot-3 and while he shows a good skillset as a pocket passer has the athleticism to be dangerous on the ground with a reported forty yard dash of 4.62.
Shows off a strong arm on tape with a nice touch on his deep balls. Not afraid to throw the ball into traffic but remains accurate in doing so as well. Also shows a very good skillset as a safety with good ball skills.
