When examining all of Nevada, I have been excited to see talented prospects throughout the state and not just within the Reno and Las Vegas metro areas. While this article contains a few of Clark County’s finest, there is also a couple talented Nevada natives who need to be on par with the best defensive line recruits in the state. Let’s take a look as to why these five players are some of the best DL prospects in the 2025 class.
Amani Maulupe Amani Maulupe 6’1″ | 295 lbs | OL Spring Valley | 2025 State NV is a talented two-way prospect for Spring Valley High School. Amani has visited the University of Arizona according to his Twitter account. Look for the visits to start coming in frequently as coaches within the region get through Amani’s tape.
Amani’s power shows as a guard consistently dropping defensive tackles on trap plays as a puller. Amani’s upper body strength, good shed technique, and athletic change of direction show the potential to be a solid run stuffer at the next level. Coaches like the strength in Amani’s punch, but good quickness displayed after shedding blockers to pursue ball carriers highlights Amani’s necessary range for a one technique in college.
Sione Motuapuaka Sione Motuapuaka 6’0″ | 265 lbs | DL Bishop Gorman | 2025 State NV is one of Bishop Gorman’s most promising prospects out of the 2025 class. Sione holds offers from Utah, Hawaii, UNLV, and the University of Idaho. Look for the versatile defensive lineman to be a coveted west coast prospect before his junior year is over.
Good lateral quickness and polished hand technique give Sione great value as an interior pass rusher; Sione shows next level power bull rushing pass protectors with ease. Good athleticism shows in Sione’s hand speed as a pass rusher and in a quick change of direction displayed after shedding block in the run game. Explosiveness and upper-body strength shows in Sione’s lightning quick punch, while Sione’s rare range and acceleration allow him to stop running backs before they get out of the backfield.
