Looking for some playmakers on the outside? Well, look no further. Today, I'm looking at some of Illinois' most underrated senior wide receivers. Each one of these youngsters has a different story; some of them have dealt with injuries, while some are just beginning to come into their own on the field. Regardless, each one to me has displayed a vast amount of on-field potential and I think they're going to put up some big numbers in 2023.

[player_tooltip player_id='252454' first='Evan' last='Agosto'] 5'11" 175, Maine South

Evan has deceptive top-end speed, he knows how to find the holes in zone coverage & settle down in them, and turns into a tough runner after the catch. He shows outstanding burst at the top of his route, he can pluck the football out of awkward body positions, and knows how to lean on a defender to create separation.

Peter Baxtron Jr., 5'8" 160, Cahokia

Lightning in a bottle equipped with vision, wiggle, and blazing speed. Peter is an explosive return, man who can flip the field in an instant, he shows nasty stop & start ability and can generate explosive plays out of simple quick game concepts.

Jamari West, 5'10" 170, Hope

Totalled over 900 yards of offense to go along with sixteen touchdowns in 2022. West can lineup in the backfield or out on the perimeter, he can take the top off just about any defense, he's got quick change of direction, outstanding contact balance, and can spin defensive backs like a top coming out of his breaks. The fact that this kid only has one FCS offer is a bit surprising to me.

[player_tooltip player_id='354065' first='Griffin' last='Buehler'] 5'9" 160, Crystal Lake Central

Griffin missed a ton of time in 2022 due to injury, but still managed to finish the season with 510 receiving yards and four touchdowns. This young man is a super scrappy ball player with efficient deep ball tracking ability, he shows strong hands on the 50/50 ball and can get on a defender's toes quickly. Look for his numbers to take a big jump with a full season of play under his belt.

[player_tooltip player_id='271811' first='Rickey' last='Taylor'] 6'1" 165, Brother Rice

Taylor takes pride in his perimeter blocking, he can cut back against the grain at any moment after the catch and knows how to use his hands to avoid reroutes. He's strong through tackle attempts & keeps his legs churning, he can decelerate & adjust to poorly thrown balls and has no hesitations about going over the middle.
