Continue ReadingSatterwhite looked great out of the DB group this past weekend. He plays through the hands of the Db and never gave up on a play. He stays in the receiver’s hip and is aggressive but not too handsy. On a standout rep he made a 1 hand interception whore he had to flip his hips 360 to make the play, pretty impressive. On film he shows good coverage, continuously putting himself in position to have a chance at the ball.
Mickey Keller
Mickey Keller
RB MVP
Keller was named the RB MVP for the day; he showed many more skills than just carrying the ball and footwork. Keller was lethal in 1-on-1’s, lining up in the slot, outside at receiver and in the back field. He has good body control and awareness and can make tough catches through contact.
Parker Mott
Parker Mott
OL MVP
OL#102
Mott put his power and strong hands on display during this camp. On one standout rep he punched a guy so hard the whole field heard it. Parkers film supports his performance, he demonstrates good mobility and power on contact and through his punches.
LB MVP
Burke showed off his athleticism and crisp footwork in bag drills and 1-on-1s. His athleticism is to no surprise, he plays running back for Carroll offensively and can run with majority of the backs from the linebacker position. He has good hips and closes on the ball instead of the running back or receiver. So far Burke holds a D1 offer from Marshall, watch out for burke to have a huge season as he helps defend Carrolls WCAC championship.
WR MVP
Scrap McAfee Showed some impressive route running and concentration. He made defenders miss with his feet off the line and during his breaks in his routes. McAfee is only in the 8th grade, but his skill outplays his age group, he is expected to attend St. Johns in DC next season.
QB MVP
Wilkens had some heat in his arm during the showcase, his passes jumped off his hand. He put the ball on a rope and was very accurate in the redzone session. Khalil had multiple passes that hit so perfect that the receiver didn’t even get a chance to look at the pass, it hit them right in the hands. After watching his performance I’m convinced he’ll have a better year passing than he did last season, his throws were on the money with velocity.
Highlights
Bowden had unmatched speed off of the edge and violent hands. Lining up at edge, which is his in-game position, he made it clear that he was too quick around the corner and even switched to beat his man inside. Lining up at interior D-line he still had tremendous quickness but showed that he can win with hand fighting. The 2025 edge will continue his high school career at St. Johns DC, who has been producing great defensive prospects as of late.
