As a freshman, he hauled in 43 receptions for 460 yards and scored five touchdowns. What stands out to me about Jack is how reliable he was throughout the season, averaging about 5-6 catches a game, and he was looked at in crucial situations. Poppe did very well when you could get the ball to him quickly and let him create after the catch. He also displays nice toughness through the catch and an ability to catch in traffic. Jack is still developing as a route-runner, but he still shows a good sense of spacing and can find ways to get open. Very good hops- he can outjump opponents to make high-point catches. Can't overlook him in this great crop of young receivers. A standout on the hardwood as well!

[player_tooltip player_id='402164' first='Quinton' last='Warren'] | ATH | Omaha Westside | 6'2" 215 lbs

Hudl | Twitter

Overall: 22 | ATH: 4

I find Quinton to be a very interesting prospect with upside at a couple of positions. Warren found his way onto the field on both sides of the ball as a QB and inside LB. Offensively, he shows the potential to develop into a dual-threat QB. He is a pass-first QB that can read through his progressions quickly before making a decision with the ball. He has great ball placement and showed the ability to fit the ball in tight windows. When Quinton decides it's time to take off, he shows nice wiggle in his runs with good vision to find lanes. He has great size and is tough to tackle 1v1. Defensively he makes smart decisions when attacking his gaps and uses his bigger frame to make sure tackles. Great athlete with a sky-high ceiling!

[player_tooltip player_id='487569' first='BJ' last='Newsome'] | QB | Omaha Central |

Hudl | Twitter

Overall: 23 | QB: 3

Expect a big sophomore season out of Central QB [player_tooltip player_id='487569' first='BJ' last='Newsome']! BJ took over the Eagle's starting role early as a freshman and navigated one of the toughest schedules in Class A while developing as a passer. He finished the season with 872 passing yards and 6 touchdowns. One thing I noticed about Newsome was that when he was able to set his feet, he threw with solid accuracy and could place the ball in a good spot for his receiver. He has a strong arm that can push the ball deep and with enough air to let his receivers get under it. BJ has good mobility and can extend the play with his legs on rollouts.

[player_tooltip player_id='795731' first='Nate' last='Appleget'] | WR/DB | Lincoln Southeast | 6'2" 185 lbs

Hudl | Twitter

Overall: 24 | WR: 8

The Knights have another Appleget to terrorize opposing teams with. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='795731' first='Nate' last='Appleget'] already looks like a promising prospect on either side of the ball. He's a great athlete with nice size and length for the receiver/safety positions. At receiver, he was a monster in the slot that could take quick dump-offs/screens for big gains. Nate is a solid route-runner that can find ways to get open and can see holes in the coverage. Appleget is tough to bring down on first contact and can usually keep his legs pumping to fight for extra yards. On defense, he does a great job reading the offense from the deep safety spot and has the range to close space quickly. Nate showed nice aggressiveness when breaking on the ball, getting his hands and body on the receiver to force the break-up. Interesting breakout candidate for the Knights!

[player_tooltip player_id='487755' first='Ethan' last='Latta'] | RB/DB | Dundy County-Stratton | 5'10" 140 lbs

Hudl | Twitter

Overall: 25 | RB: 2

Ethan emerged as one of the top two-way players in 8-man football with a dominant freshman season. Latta was able to make plays no matter how he received his touches, rushing for 305 yards, 3 rushing TDs, 182 receiving yards, 146 punt return yards, and a punt return. Ethan does a great job being patient and letting his blocks get set before exploding through his lane. Once he gets to the second level, he has great acceleration to break away from the defense. Latta is also a versatile receiver, not just catching out of the backfield but can also line up outside and in the slot. Defensively, he was an absolute ball-hawk, snagging an insane ten interceptions and returning one for a touchdown. He reads offenses very well and is physical when making a play on the ball. He moves laterally very well and can cover large chunks of field. Dynamic playmaker that could end up a RB, WR, or DB when it's said and done.

[player_tooltip player_id='779705' first='Kamron' last='Caldwell'] | RB | Millard West | 5'11" 175 lbs

Hudl | Twitter

Overall: 26 | RB: 3

Very exciting player in a talented Wildcat freshman group. Kamron is a fast, shifty back that moves very well between the tackles. He finds running lanes very well and is willing to take on any defenders that try to meet him in his lane. Caldwell's physicality, ability to absorb contact, and strength to carry defenders were impressive. Kamron is explosive coming out of his cuts and can flip the field on a dime with a good burst at the end of it. Caldwell does a good amount of his damage going north-south, but he is very dangerous if he's allowed to gain the edge with solid breakaway speed.

[player_tooltip player_id='402158' first='Michael' last='Knudsen'] | QB | Gretna | 6'0" 160 lbs

Hudl | Twitter

Overall: 27 | QB: 4

Watch out for this one! Michael was a player that really caught my eye in this round of updates. He is a great pocket passer that can also slip out of the pocket to buy extra time or tuck the ball and run. Knudsen throws a great deep ball and can place it only where his receiver can make a play on it. He has great timing with his passes and knows how to lead his receivers with the ball. He reads through his progressions very well and gets the ball out quickly when he locks onto his receiver. Natural thrower that can deliver the ball anywhere on the field. Huge upside QB!

[player_tooltip player_id='612402' first='Jermaine' last='Green'] | WR/ATH | Bellevue West | 6'0" 175 lbs

Hudl | Twitter

Overall: 28 | ATH: 5

Bellevue West WR/ATH [player_tooltip player_id='612402' first='Jermaine' last='Green'] is ready to set the varsity scene ablaze with his elite speed and athleticism. Green was an extremely productive member of the Bellevue West freshman team, catching 34 receptions for 734 yards and 12 touchdowns. He is a very dynamic player that can blow the top off a defense and track the deep ball. He has a great release and can reach his top speed quickly. He's sharp coming in and out of his breaks. Jermaine also shined as a kick returner, accumulating 354 return yards and scoring three touchdowns off kick returns. Explosive athlete with the ball in his hands. With the Thunderbird's depth at receiver, I wouldn't be surprised if he found varsity time on defense and special teams.

[player_tooltip player_id='402152' first='Hayden' last='Holdren'] | QB | Norris | 6'3" 185 lbs

Hudl | Twitter

Overall: 29 | QB: 5

Norris is going to have some solid QB play for a while. QB [player_tooltip player_id='402152' first='Hayden' last='Holdren'] showed tons of upside during his frosh season. The first thing that stands out is that he already has a great QB size with room to continue growing. The lefty QB also showed that he can deliver the ball to all levels of the field, including the deep ball. Holdren does a good job throwing with touch and can also zip it when he needs to. He had great command of the offense and showed solid poise in the pocket. He's also pretty sound when on the move, keeping his eyes upfield and able to make solid throws even when unbalanced. He is a great overall prospect that should make noise as he progresses through the recruiting process.

[player_tooltip player_id='779704' first='Gabe' last='Prucha'] | RB/LB | Millard South | 5'10" 210 lbs

Hudl | Twitter

Overall: 30 | RB: 4

Millard South's 2026 class is going to be a problem in the upcoming years. One member of that group who already looks like a stud in the making is [player_tooltip player_id='779704' first='Gabe' last='Prucha']. Gabe is a physical player that doesn't mind throwing his big frame around to dish out punishment as either a running back or LB. Prucha made the jump to varsity as a freshman, and although he played a limited role, he found ways to make his snaps count. I look forward to seeing more of Prucha in the upcoming months.

Make sure to follow @PrepRedzoneNE on Twitter and Instagram to stay up to date with all your Nebraska prep recruiting news.
