Since so many prospects caught my eye this past weekend, I decided to do a 2-part series highlighting the talented prospects in attendance.
So without further ado, let’s check out Pt. 2 of my Top Performer series and get to know which other prospects caught my eye during the 2023 PRZ IL Prospect Tour…
Isaiah Mason | WR | Montini ‘25
Mason is a prospect who can easily see his stock rise over the next few years. He has an imposing frame and the strength to dominate smaller defensive backs, especially in the red zone. Flashed strong hands and good speed for a wideout his size.
Ty Ransom | RB | St. Francis ‘25
Ransom was without a doubt one of the standout RBs from this past weekend. His rhythmic cuts and amazing footwork enabled him to shine during individual drills and left no doubt that he’s a maestro at making defenders miss. Has a solid build along with great speed and is definitely a RB to keep an eye heading into this season.
Armon Holmes | QB | Oswego East ‘ 24
Holmes is a natural thrower of the football who consistently made tough throws look easy during the camp. What stood out the most was his ball placement on deep throws and his ability hit the receiver in stride on intermediate routes.
Omar Coleman Omar Coleman 5'8" | 155 lbs | WR Plainfield North | 2025 IL | WR | Plainfield East ‘25
What’s there not to love about Coleman? He dominated the Prospect Tour last year and he’s only gotten better since then. His speed, quickness and ability to play under control is what separated him from the other receivers in attendance, not to mention, he’s one of the more polished route runners who has a knack for creating separation.
Zion Gist | RB | Lincoln-Way East ‘25
Gist has all the skills you want to see in a RB in today’s football landscape. He has the size to ground and pound and is elusive enough to consistently make defenders miss in tight areas and in space. He brings value to the position with his ability to be a reliable receiving threat out of the backfield. He looked very comfortable running routes and caught the ball very well. Gist is an all-purpose, every-down back with a ton of potential.
Danny Zarco Danny Zarco 6'5" | 305 lbs | OL Lyons Township | 2024 IL | OL | Lyons Township ’24
Zarco was an absolute beast during this camp and made it abundantly clear that he was the top o-lineman in attendance. His athleticism gives him a huge advantage in containing pass-rushers. He has excellent footwork and does a great job squaring up on his opponents, not to mention, he plays with an absolute with mean streak which definitely intimated some of the other campers who had to face off against him.
Tyler Fortis Tyler Fortis 6'3" | 265 lbs | DL Maine South | 2025 IL | DL | Maine South ‘25
Fortis caught my eye with his ability to dominate as an inside rusher and also be effective rushing from the outside; you can tell he’s no stranger when it comes to collapsing a pocket and getting to the quarterback. Possesses a strong set of paws to shed off blocks and plays with a ton of force, but also is also a sneaky good athlete who can move well for a kid his size.
DeAndre Coates | WR | Lincoln-Way West ‘25
Coates has definitely refined his skills and has gotten noticeably bigger since last year’s Prospect Tour. He’s a big-bodied receiver who I think can thrive making touch catches in traffic, going over the top of smaller defenders, and being primary target in the red zone.
