There were only four signed (three in attendance) as these young men got so many reps to show what their talent skillsets were all about. So let’s give these fellas some depth on what they excelled at on Saturday at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase at Northern State. From Sioux Falls to Rapid City to little Kulm, ND the DB group is all here! Note: We will be adding each players headshot to each article as they become available over the next 48 hours or less.
Cole Knudtson Cole Knudtson 6'0" | WR Sioux Falls Lincoln | 2025 SD , DB, Sioux Falls Lincoln (SD) (2025) Twitter
Cole is a defensive back prospect that has developed nicely this Spring from 7v7, into our Saturday Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase. He showed off in 1v1 reps and with his testing numbers that there is some quick flying instincts inside of his plethora of skillsets. Cole showed off during Indy drills as well, that this young man has a strong vertical and reach when he get’s into the air as that might graze higher in my eyes than you would see in his measurables. Cole was the most explosive defensive back in this small group in the broad jump, jumping a 9’2 at 5’10 nearly 180 pounds. Also had the best flying 10 in the group as well, as Cole to me looks like a stockriser in my South Dakota 2025 class from his reps he has gotten out and shown off this Spring.
Henry Telechan Henry Telechan 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Rapid City Stevens | 2026 State SD , DB, Rapid City Stevens (SD) 2026 Twitter
Despite his age, Henry was the biggest and longest defensive back in the small group of defensive backs we had on Saturday at the Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase. The Rapid City Stevens prospect logged the second best 40 yard dash time in the group at a 4.82 which seals well with his 6’1 165 frame that still has a good base of frame he can add as Henry is just entering his sophomore year in the coming months. When I got to watch Henry in Indy reps, I loved watching the length he provided when I watched him stretch for the ball and to not much surprise here, he showed off a great vertical as far as his length off the ground when he was in the air. His tape quickly shows off a long-legged charging ability that shows good yet still developing instinct when popping into the backfield. If Henry can develop his short space burst, he will certainly develop that downhill demeanor he puts out on tape. Henry is certainly a West River DB prospect that will be in my 2026 rankings as a prospect that has a high ceiling of potential.
Joe Kramlich Joe Kramlich 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Kulm | 2025 State ND , DB, Ellendale-Edgeley-Kulm (2025) Twitter
They always say you save the best for last, and that is certainly the case with our defensive back MVP in Ellendale-Edgeley-Kulm 2025 prospect Joe Kramlich Joe Kramlich 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Kulm | 2025 State ND . To those that do not know yet, I just unleashed our 2025 North Dakota rankings with Joseph at the top of our 2025 class for defensive backs, and he 100% played like just that on Saturday at the Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase like I hoped he would. With their only being three true defensive backs at the Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase, Joseph got a huge amount of reps and while watching him, I loved watching this kid’s stamina show out as he put his maximum effort he could give in every rep he was given. Joseph showed off huge amounts of efficiency in his ball tracking ability and the athleticism he showed off with his natural feel for the position with his football IQ, was just a blast to watch in-person. He also showed an extremely twitchy change of direction on a rainy day where most times were running slower in agility-type testing aside from Joseph and a few others. This young man also has some excellent attention to detail skillsets in his plethora as you could fully see the work ethic Joseph had from start to finish at the Prep Redzone Showcase. This young man is going to be one hot commodity over the coming months to the next year or so, as many scholarship-level coaches will finally know where Kulm, North Dakota (pop. 363) is over the next two recruiting cycles. Stay tuned.
