Highlights
- All but validated his ranking and stock on the site. No questioning his place at the top of the quarterback food chain. Can’t remember a single inaccurate pass. Rubino took the opportunity seriously and made sure coaches watching left impressed. I was. Plenty of torque on his throws, all levels too. Located downfield well despite many footballs being wet from the morning dew. Spot-on accuracy while throwing on the run. Live action gave me a feel for his presence as a leader, was vocal and in control of drills.
Liam Donagher
Liam Donagher
- on our 2023 rankings, not on our 2024s only because we caught his PG decision a bit late. Spectacular DB skills from a kid that meets the collegiate LB size threshold requirements. 6’2, nearly reaching 6’3. Donagher moves like he’s 175 pounds. He does project to LB at the next level, his cover skills against RB/TE should translate after the position change. Eats up ground when weaving or backpedaling.
- Was not expecting to see this young man at the showcase. Later in the week, Blaize Cameron Blaize Cameron 6'4" | 225 lbs | TE Choate Rosemary Hall | 2024 State NewE announced his decision to reclass and attend CRH as a 2024. Saw a young man listed at 6’4 and some change run and separate from some DBs. I, as well as many coaches near me, were forced to dig into the young man a bit. Can box out and utilize his frame well when working underneath coverage. He’s going to eat so long as his connection with Rubino grows. Again, overtly aggressive. Not sure what his tape looks like in terms of blocking skill, yet he looked comfortable in blocking drills with other OL/TE prospects.
- Big, long-limbed defensive backs draw the same crowd that 6’5, 300+LB linemen receive at events like this. Ezra Fearon Ezra Fearon 6'3" | 175 lbs | ATH Choate Rosemary Hall | 2025 State NewE was the prospect that many of us media and coaches were buzzing about. Legit measurables matched with supreme confidence, Fearon was focused and ready to get his name out there. He certainly got my attention. I have to take a peek at his tape to really understand what he brings to the table, yet from what I saw at the Showcase, Fearon should be able to mirror or shadow opposing WR1s. His size makes you think he’s safety capable, especially after watching him cover ground, yet I imagine his skillset can translate to outside corner. Either way, very intrigued.
Highlights
- Loved seeing Jack Brooder Jack Brooder 6'0" | 175 lbs | LB Choate Rosemary Hall | 2026 State NewE work individual drills more than anything, as well as some combine specific drills that showed off his agility. Love his burst at the whistle, Jack Brooder Jack Brooder 6'0" | 175 lbs | LB Choate Rosemary Hall | 2026 State NewE consistently kept his feet underneath him despite moving 100 miles per hour. Watching a controlled, disciplined linebacker with great feet at this age is always exciting. Currently ranked as a Top 100 prospect in his class, I feel better about the rank. Didn’t get a chance to see him cover TEs or RBs this time around though.
Highlights
- Here’s a young man that is often overlooked. Not the biggest kid in the trenches, not necessarily the most exciting prospect in terms of national attention, yet is a consistent rep winner. From a coaching perspective, that’s all you can ask for. Ben Yedid Ben Yedid 6'3" | 235 lbs | DL Choate Rosemary Hall | 2024 State NewE is a slim, quick IDL that is going to produce well alongside some of the prospects around him. A TE build that can utilize his hands to win against centers and guards. I think he’ll see a jump in rank, as well as production this coming Fall.
- The two stars of the show. Manuel Beigel Manuel Beigel 6'5" | 280 lbs | OL Choate Rosemary Hall | 2024 State NewE , an impressively seasoned tackle prospect who has committed to Michigan, was clean in all aspects. Watching him work individual drills was a treat. Watching Beigel get out of his stance and explode his lower body up close gives you a clear understanding as to why Michigan is so high on his potential. Beigel is losing any bit of baby fat he had left on his massive build. I’m sure Michigan can’t wait to get this kid in the building. Beigel set the tone, Will Black Will Black 6'7" | 290 lbs | OL Choate Rosemary Hall | 2025 State NewE followed his footsteps. Recently offered by Maryland, Stanford, Texas A&M, all of which were in attendance to see the 6’7 behemoth work. Watching Black move through bags was like watching a moose move through the woods, so impressive to see a young prospect hold his own against the likes of Manuel Beigel Manuel Beigel 6'5" | 280 lbs | OL Choate Rosemary Hall | 2024 State NewE during 1-on-1s too. We like Will Black Will Black 6'7" | 290 lbs | OL Choate Rosemary Hall | 2025 State NewE as a top-five lineman in his class, yet I think that overall rank deserves a bit of a bump.
Alex Reisig
Alex Reisig
- Two more special linemen worked alongside Black, Beigel, and Yedid. That being freshman Will Tellers Will Tellers 6'4" | 270 lbs | OL Choate Rosemary hall | 2026 NewE and recently offered Alexander Reisig. Reisig excites when thinking about his potential. Little bit of a late bloomer, yet the young man held his own during 1-on-1s. Love the balance he shows coming out of his stance. Impressed by the knee-drive, great power behind his back foot here. I’m a bit surprised at the lack of offers after May 15th, considering how good he looked next to some of his counterparts. He currently holds an offer out of Eastern Michigan.
- Will Tellers Will Tellers 6'4" | 270 lbs | OL Choate Rosemary hall | 2026 NewE also showed promise, enough to warrant a future ranking among his class.
Cheshire Academy
- Walking through Cheshire Academy, everything starts and ends with the Smith Twins. Jerod and Jacob set the stage and set the tone for how things were going to go last Monday. Vocal leaders who lead by example, front of the line, constantly encouraging teammates. These are the little things I want to see when watching prospects of this caliber. There is no poking of holes in their games, so much of what they provide can be deemed elite. All of this being said, I came away pleased with how both brothers conducted themselves, not only in front of 40+ college coaches but in a new setting as well. They fit right in. Excited to see where Jacob commits, as Jerod has already announced his commitment to Michigan, who was in attendance.
- I’m new to traveling, as this is one of the few times I’ve traveled out of Pennsylvania to cover national talent. I’m not sure I’ve seen a more impressive Quarterback session in person. This is counting the likes of Stone Saunders, Samaj Jones, Kyle McCord, and Avon Old Farms’ Ryan Puglisi Ryan Puglisi 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Avon Old Farms | 2024 State NewE . Effortless thrower of the football, Dante Reno Dante Reno 6'1" | 200 lbs | QB Cheshire Academy | 2024 State NewE , in just 35-40 minutes, left a lasting impression on me, so much so that I might be watching way more Gamecock football than I thought I would a couple of years from now. Back-shoulder throws were thrown with pin-point accuracy, throwing to some prospects that he just met just months before. Can launch the ball 45+ yards with zero hitch or wasted movement in wind-up. If you truly want to see advanced quarterback skills, see if you can watch Dante Reno Dante Reno 6'1" | 200 lbs | QB Cheshire Academy | 2024 State NewE work. One of the more mechanically sound passers I’ve seen in my career.
Highlights
- UMass pulled the trigger on our top-five pass-catcher. Teriq Mallory Teriq Mallory 6'5" | 190 lbs | WR Cheshire Academy | 2025 State NewE added to his offer list after impressing during the May 15th Showcase. Impressive rapport with Dante Reno Dante Reno 6'1" | 200 lbs | QB Cheshire Academy | 2024 State NewE , not sure how long the two have been working together but we could hardly realize the new relationship. 6’4, long and lengthy limbs, Mallory’s name should blow up as he’ll more than likely be the main recipient of Reno’s throws with Luke Reynolds Luke Reynolds 6'4" | 220 lbs | ATH Cheshire Academy | 2024 State NewE double-dipping on both sides of the field.
Highlights
- New England’s top-ranked athlete and linebacker both reside at Cheshire Academy. The program then adds Reno and the Smith twins from Loomis Chaffee, thus cementing themselves as one of the top programs in all of Connecticut. I’ve had my eye on Luke Reynolds Luke Reynolds 6'4" | 220 lbs | ATH Cheshire Academy | 2024 State NewE for some time, even seeing him as recently as earlier in the month at The UC Report. Reynolds is going to provide quality reps at numerous positions, yet this showcase, Reynolds wanted to show off his stride and route-running abilities. That he did. Great conditioning displayed, as not many WRs made the trip. The Penn State commit showed off impressive ball-tracking ability downfield. He’s ready to prove to doubters that he could be an X at the next level and not just TE.
- Elijah Newby Elijah Newby 6'3" | 210 lbs | LB Cheshire Academy | 2024 State NewE impressed those in attendance purely based on athleticism. Tough to gauge his complete skillset in this setting, yet watching him work bags and explode out of his stance was enough for many in attendance to get excited. A physical specimen, Elijah Newby Elijah Newby 6'3" | 210 lbs | LB Cheshire Academy | 2024 State NewE recently set a new personal record in High Jump, posting a 6’8″ jump just a week prior.
- Wanted to show quick love to the man behind Dante Reno Dante Reno 6'1" | 200 lbs | QB Cheshire Academy | 2024 State NewE . It’s tough to throw after Reno, I don’t care who you are. Throwing after one of the prettiest passers in the nation could make any quarterback look “bad” in comparison. That wasn’t the case watching Jack McCluskey Jack McCluskey 6'4" | 200 lbs | ATH Cheshire Academy | 2025 State NewE throw with Reno at this event. Prep Redzone is always interested in the next man up and it looks like McCluskey will more than likely carve out a future role for himself at Cheshire. Accuracy was off a bit, yet McCluskey still displayed good timing and torque on footballs. Arm strength, combined with a desirable build. Both Roger Silva and I came away impressed by the underclassmen passer.
Brunswick School
- I sadly didn’t get the chance to observe Bryce Davis Bryce Davis 6'0" | 190 lbs | RB Brunswick School | 2024 State NewE , the second-ranked RB in his class, the way I would have liked. Watched the kid warm up, watched him move through bags at one point, but I paid a bit more attention to on-air throws and OL setups. I’d look into a future Roger Silva piece to discuss more of Davis’ performance.
- I had no worries ranking Ethan Long Ethan Long 6'2" | 185 lbs | DB Brunswick School | 2025 State NewE the top DB in his class, his tape backs that up easily. Seeing him work live just validates that notion even further. His stature and frame stand out immediately. Talk about chiseled, ideal length of limbs for what Power Five’s want to see out of a defensive back. Elite feet that work in tandem. Confident and complete prospect that can tackle and cover. Handsy at the LOS, wins early in reps, Ethan Long Ethan Long 6'2" | 185 lbs | DB Brunswick School | 2025 State NewE is a young anticipator who can shadow if he needs to. A luxury Brunswick gets to deploy every Friday night. Can operate with cushion, or at the LOS. Would dominate at safety if needed. Long left one of the more lasting impressions among the 150 prospects I saw that day.
Here’s a young pass-catcher without a Twitter or Hudl tape to look up. If you came to Brunswick looking for a wide-out, you might’ve come away pleased with Tyler Lloyd Tyler Lloyd 6'0" | 185 lbs | WR Brunswick School | 2025 State NewE ‘s performance. He’s not on the national or local spotlight yet, but seeing his complete skillset on display has me feeling like he could be ready to explode onto the scene. Cromartie throwing the football, Tyler Lloyd Tyler Lloyd 6'0" | 185 lbs | WR Brunswick School | 2025 State NewE could be the main recipient of the offense’s yardage threw the air alongside Will Graves Will Graves 6'3" | 175 lbs | WR Brunswick School Ct. | 2025 NewE , who couldn’t participate Monday. I’ve got my eyes on this kid.
Highlights
- The focus of the Brunswick showcase landed on Matty Augustine Matty Augustine 6'7" | 290 lbs | OL Brunswick School | 2025 State NewE and Jadon Lafontant Jadon Lafontant 6'4" | 315 lbs | OL Brunswick School | 2024 State NewE ‘s shoulders. As it should, the two massive linemen are quickly flooding onto the scene, acquiring even more offers after performing in front of 40+ coaches. Brunswick coaching staff flaunted the flexibility and elasticity of the two linemen prospects, having Augustine and Lafontant work under and over hurdles to show off how loose the hips were. Texas A&M and Nebraska liked what they saw, enough to offer Augustine after the camp. Lafontant received a Liberty offer at the time of writing this piece.
