I'm very pleasantly surprised with the talent I've found in the Flint Lower League with just a few minutes of research. This league is oftentimes overshadowed by some of the bigger surrounding areas and schools, but I promise you there's some good talent here. Here, we'll go over five athletes with great upside!

RB | [player_tooltip player_id='568050' first='Jakoby' last='Lagat'] | Goodrich | Hudl

Jakoby has all the potential in the world, and I hope he reaches the heights I know he's capable of reaching. He fits the Goodrich offense incredibly well, as he plays with physicality and grit. It wasn't long before the Goodrich staff took note of Jakoby's abilities, as he played with the 5-quarter rule for the first 6 weeks, then was pulled up to Varsity during week 7 through the playoffs and to the state championship. Last year he was surely more a role player, but to perform how he performed as a freshman on a state runner-up team, it's extremely promising.

QB | [player_tooltip player_id='250056' first='Wyatt' last='Bower'] | Corunna | Hudl

I can't believe the player Wyatt has become. I remember walking away from evaluating him after his Sophomore season and not being over the moon impressed. As he made the switch to QB, Wyatt blew up, earning all-state honors plus offers from Central Michigan and Colorado State. His stats are very impressive as he threw for 1094 yards and 20 touchdowns on offense while intercepting 7 passes on defense. In addition, he just helped Corunna break the 4x100 school record with a time of 42.98.

ATH | [player_tooltip player_id='823539' first='Jett' last='Husted'] | Lake Fenton | Hudl

This is some impeccable timing for Jett, as he just posted his highlights 18 hours ago as I'm writing this, and he just made his first two tweets of him doing some off-season training. His hudl film shows some flashes of great catches in traffic, decent route-running, and decent speed. His recent tweets serve as a great sign for the future- because the best players in the Fall outwork everyone else in the Winter / Spring! Being a dual-sport athlete with Basketball and doing some spring training makes me optimistic for next season.

WR | [player_tooltip player_id='823545' first='Drew' last='Hickmott'] | Ortonville | Hudl

It's no secret that [player_tooltip player_id='823545' first='Drew' last='Hickmott'] is a special athlete. An all-state WR and DB, there's not much else I need to say. Offensively, he posted 2,065 yards and 20 touchdowns. Defensively, 8 PBUs, 2 INTs, and 55 tackles. Drew is a gritty, athletic, and talented prospect with some great film. I mean, just watch the first play in the film below. Jaw-dropping one-handed TD catch. Check him out! Drew will surely be in the updated rankings!

ATH | Michael Cook | Cilo | Hudl

Cook is a dawg. He played the role of Athlete playing QB last season, and Michael made some magic happen from time to time. He's very shifty, and it tends to pay off, as his quick acceleration and fast feet leave defenders in the dust. His good speed makes it unlikely he's caught in the open field, and there are a few instances of Cook fighting for extra yards. I just get the feeling that Cook is a gritty player with a ton of passion and upside.
