We had a good few offensive prospects impress, with a good mix of guys I was familiar with vs. those I was unfamiliar with until a few days ago. So, here are five of the most impressive offensive standouts from the Jenison (PM) showcase!
QB | Jonathan Pittman Jonathan Pittman 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB Mona Shores | 2025 State MI | 2025 | Mona Shores | Hudl
Pittman continues to improve each and every time I see him. When I first watched him against Rockford early last season, I wasn’t too impressed, but his film shows continuous improvement through last fall. Heading into the summer, he now looks like a polished college recruit. His overall fundamentals have improved, and he looked quite poised out there. I didn’t get to see as much of Pittman as I wanted, but the few throws I did see were quick and on the money. Lastly, the dude is extremely well-built. He’s every bit of 6’2″ 210 with a very muscular build. Pittman looked bigger than every linebacker at the showcase besides two or three. I see Pittman as an eventual Division 2 prospect.
WR | Jake Vermaas Jake Vermaas 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR South Christian | 2024 State MI | 2024 | South Christian | Hudl
Another showcase, another standout performance by Jake Vermaas Jake Vermaas 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR South Christian | 2024 State MI . I didn’t have the closest eye on Jake since I already know his game, but I kept hearing college coaches whispering his name throughout. I did see a few of Jake’s 7v7 reps, and he caught every ball I saw thrown his way. Better yet- he showed some ability to catch in traffic and adjust mid-air to secure catches. I would be shocked if Jake doesn’t receive DII offers very soon.
WR | Isaiah Atchinson | 2024 | Montague | Hudl
His sheer size alone left an impression on everyone in attendance. Isaiah is 6’8″ and towered over everyone. Many times when I see a high school athlete of his size, the movement and athleticism can be a bit wonky. I’m not going to say Isaiah was an incredible athlete, but his movement was a lot better than other giants I’ve seen. He surely has a place on a college football field, but he’ll need to work on his frame, catching, and overall athleticism. Still, Isaiah surely left an impression on me.
RB | Jayden Terry Jayden Terry 5'8" | 175 lbs | RB Grandville | 2026 State MI | 2026 | Grandville | Hudl
I’ve been wanting to watch Jayden perform for quite some time, and I’m delighted that I got to see him. Right away, it was obvious that Jayden was the most athletic and agile RB at the whole showcase. Jayden still has room to grow when it comes to running routes, catching the ball, and other skills not repped in a Wing-T offense, but he’s constantly working. I would be blown away if Jayden was anything less than a MAC prospect, and he has true Power-5 potential.
RB | Kallon Motter Kallon Motter 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Lawton | 2024 MI | 2024 | Lawton | Hudl
Kal wasn’t far behind Jayden when it came to athleticism and agility, and Kal was surely the strongest and most well-built back in the entire group. He really impressed me during the initial agility portion, and he continued to impress through the 7v7 period. He ran fluid short routes and was not afraid of contact, even without pads. Last season, Kal ran for 1,279 yards and scored 24TDs through 11 games. This last part was supposed to mention how I think Kal is a Divison 2 running back, but Davenport beat me to it! Right after the showcase, Kal was offered by Davenport, and I see more DII opportunities coming.
