The coaching and the players never disappoint on showing high quality football at the youth level. There is a long list of successful alumni and some of these highlighted athletes and kicker have an opportunity to be a a big part of the culture.
Ricky Washington Ricky Washington 5’9″ | 150 lbs | ATH North Clayton | 2027 GA (Watchlist Player) is a highly skilled athlete with sure handedness and decent route running ability. He is a threat every time he touches the ball being so explosive. Comfortability seems to land mostly at slot receiver or a hybrid wing back that allows him to match up with linebackers or a nickel back. When you see Washington running crossing patterns or pick routes out of a bunch or stacked set, this is where he gets to create space and grab the Quarterbacks eyes to chip away for big gains. He got skills at corner but this type of track star is more dangerous running forward.
Highlights
Jordan Christie | 5’8 160lbs | ATH
Out the gate you can see this player is a ball hog on both sides of the ball. Has a knack for always being in the right place at the right time. Can play inside and outside receiver. As well as corner or safety. Jordan’s best ability is availability because he can play so many positions and be affective. When squared up, he will win more times than not due to his elusive moves and seeing things open up in front of him a step sooner than those trying to get him on the ground. I see him being a top kick off and punt returner at the next level as well if he spends time developing this craft.
Russell Brock | 5’10 130lbs | K
Two things that help win games. Come out on top of the turnover battle, or control field position. Insert Mr. Brock and you can rest easy that his leg will come in handy when called. Russell is trust worthy when it’s time to flip the field with his leg or give enough time for his 10 counter parts to run down on the kick off to make sure the returner doesn’t past the 20 yard mark. The height is there along with strength behind this kids boot already, but it will only get better as he develops more in a high school weight program. Striving to be an elite kicker in the state of Georgia will have it’s heavy dose of opportunities with so many offensive threats getting 6 points on the board early and often. Special teams matter!
