The coaching and the players never disappoint on showing high quality football at the youth level. There is a long list of successful alumni and some of these highlighted receivers have an opportunity to be a a big part of the culture.
McBride is the perfect compliment to the run game with his lengthy stride and explosive release off the ball. He blows the top off of coverages while tracking down deep balls that only he can seem to get to. Sometimes he makes it look too easy, and the other times McBride prides himself on showing grit through his physical blocking down field. Having some experience at running back lends to his yards after the catch as well. You can tag him as an athlete if you want, but Team Georgia will have a field day utilizing his soft hands and elite track speed on the parameter come June. (PRZ Next Watchlist)
Size. Speed. Toughness. These are the basic attributes of a good football player. Well Corey Hadley Jr. Corey Hadley Jr. 6’0″ | 170 lbs | WR Sandy Creek | 2027 GA doesn’t want to be just good. This 6 foot 170 pound baller has greatness written all over him. Recently picking up his first offer from Western Kentucky University, Corey’s consistency has gotten him MVP and All-American honors along with a cemented roster spot on this years Team Georgia roster. I can assure you when his number is called he will show out. This kid is dependable and not just a big body possession receiver. Do your homework and watch him take screen play after screen play the distance, or taking a jet sweep to the house after being lined up at the Z. Offers like WKU shouldn’t come as a surprise because there will be more to come as he makes an immediate splash at the high school level. (PRZ Next Watchlist)
Lee County High School got them one coming in rangy wideout Jaden Upshaw Jaden Upshaw 6’2″ | 185 lbs | WR Lee County | 2027 GA ! Being a Georgia Future Star is just icing on the cake for this head topping machine. Jaden has displayed some of the best body control I’ve seen at his age. The harder the catch, the more comfortable he is in making it look like a routine catch. Even though he already stands at 6’1, he’s not just bullying the shorter DB’s, “anybody can get it.” The confidence Jaden plays with will be fun to watch with someone like Corey Hadley Jr. Corey Hadley Jr. 6’0″ | 170 lbs | WR Sandy Creek | 2027 GA as the other bookend. This top prospect is fearless when it comes to catching balls inside as well. Typically, a player with this size and speed just wants to catch the deep ball, not Jaden, he takes pride in gaining his signal callers trust by trying to master the whole route tree. Under Cam Newtons tutelage, Emerson Lewis Emerson Lewis 5’10” | 190 lbs | ATH Calvary Day | 2027 GA seems to make continuous strides as an athlete. It also doesn’t hurt coming behind two older brothers that are already playing Division 1 football. So understanding the grind to separate ones self is not a mystery to him. This kids work ethic and skill set combined is a game changer. Being a shifty receiver with sticky fingers can prove itself a headache to any defensive scheme come next month in the Georgia Future Stars game. Mr. Lewis’ current muscular frame will flourish in a weekly high school strength training program and his top end speed will add another gear I’m sure. This is a player to bookmark since getting his first offer last July from Incarnate Word. (PRZ Next Watchlist)
Another 6 foot receiving threat who gets separation out of breaks. How does he do it? Proctor keeps his arms alive during the entire route so your don’t know if he is going to run by you, break inside, roll outside, or just stop on a dime and sit in that sweet spot. He also doesn’t fight the ball and allow the nose to get into his chest. With the size of his hands it comes as second nature to flash his fingers at the last moment to snatch the ball out the air. Professional route runners practice this all the time and for a 8th grader to have this in his bag of tricks is very impressive. I see this young man challenging himself by lining up inside and outside to make sure he is accounted for since he has the confidence to create space wherever he is lined up. (PRZ Next Watchlist)
Highlights
Keiland Miley | 5’9, 150 lbs.
Here is a multi-sport athlete that keeps a straight face because he’s not fooling around. Keiland has decent size with long arms. Quarterbacks can rest assure that they can thread the needle to this receiver and he will fight through traffic and come up with the ball. Plays with good pad level coming off the line of scrimmage and can distort his body to get his hands on a back shoulder throw whether is was intended to be or just a bad ball. Reliable and willing to grind is what Keiland Miley brings to this loaded receiving core.
Jayshon Williams | 5’11 140 lbs.
My guy Jayshon might be slender but he is not frail. Right away you will think this receiver only wants to outside release to a jump ball. Wrong again. Jayshon has receipts on catching a hitch or a speed screen, then cutting it back inside where all the smoke is for big gains. I was impressed on his acceleration from a dead stop. He also utilizing his stop and go skills in his releases, making DB’s get their legs tangled as he’s running by them. The boy got Randy Moss like strides and don’t let him get into the end zone. I put money that he has enough bounce to dunk on the goal post!
Stephen Love II | 5’6, 125 lbs.
Can someone say “Baby Tyreek”? I hope this doesn’t offend this up and coming prospect, but his fast twitch movements and current make up resembles that of Tyreek Hill. With a lot of hard work and the state of Georgia constantly breeding elite players, I don’t think it’s to far fetched to add this comparison to Mr. Love’s game. He’s so quick and has solid catching ability. He’s always eager to display his talents and attacks drills with a chip on his shoulder. I will be interested to see how he is used in the Georgia Future Stars game with a handful of 6 ft + receivers.
Isaiah Jones | 5’11, 175 lbs.
For the first time in years, the eighth-grade Georgia Future Stars Team does not have a tall, super-freaky 6-foot-2 or 6-foot-3 wide receiver on the outside. However, what they do have is a bunch of aggressive kids right around the 6-foot mark with good size, speed and strength. Jones fits that description of the group to a tee, at 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds. The Savannah native, ran the fourth fastest 40-yard time (4.86) at the Savannah tryout. Fittingly enough, the three who ran faster all made the team too.
