Expert Analysis

McBride is a nationally underrated sleeper who has been on my radar for a while. He is a juiced-up receiver who has PR’d under 11 seconds in the 100M, adding context to his traits. McBride is a well-rounded player who threatens each area of the field. He is capable of storming right by corners down the field, working back to the QB, and making plays after the catch. Either way, he is fast, and he maintains his speed and acceleration through breaks and cuts. He is a TD threat from any spot on the field and an obvious D1 talent.

A crafty receiver in Augusta who can create separation and make plays down the field, McBride is one of the fastest and most dependable receivers returning in the region next fall. As a sophomore, the shifty, sure-handed wideout hauled in 45 passes for 652 yards and five touchdowns while also helping out at running back. He’s a strong route-runner currently ranked as the No. 18 ATH in the state for the 2027 class. Don’t be surprised if he has a giant junior season this fall.

A sleeper wide receiver in Augusta coming off a promising sophomore season in 2024, McBride is a natural athlete with a shifty style of play. He’s a strong route-runner who can get open with enough speed to take off down the field. He can make plays in several different ways but really stood out catching the ball, hauling in 45 passes for 652 yards and five touchdowns. His best performance came in his final game of the season where he caught 10 passes for 192 yards and one touchdown against Baldwin. He flashed D1-caliber talent and could see some offers come his way down the road.

is a lowkey prospect out of the Augusta area, but he has been extremely impressive through the first few games and is flashing elite playmaking ability. He is a verified 10.9 runner in the 100M, which is shown off when he hits the open field. He is nearly impossible to catch if given space to run and eliminates cushion quickly when facing off-man coverage. With the ball in his hand, he plays backyard football. He can sink his hips to snap off tacklers, jump across faces, change directions with his footwork, and is not afraid to redirect plays when needed. He is the epitome of the cliche “hard to tackle in a phone booth”, as he often emerges from a crowd of tacklers with a positive gain. McBride will have to harness his elite athletic gifts, but you’d rather have to coach that out of a prospect than into one. McBride lands a D1 grade from me.

Every time I watch McBride play, either in person or watching film, he makes a play or two that are just awesome to watch. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound wide receiver was a key contributor in both the return game and on the outside as a wide receiver. He dismantled defenses with his ability to pick up yards after that catch, specifically on slants or wide receiver screens. Got in and out of his breaks cleanly, with very little wasted motion–if any at all. He was clocked at 4.81 in the forty during tryouts, but looked much faster during practice and especially in the games. McBride is a really nice-looking prospect with the muscle, hands and speed necessary to become a highly-recruited player.

McBride is the perfect compliment to the run game with his lengthy stride and explosive release off the ball. He blows the top off of coverages while tracking down deep balls that only he can seem to get to. Sometimes he makes it look too easy, and the other times McBride prides himself on showing grit through his physical blocking down field. Having some experience at running back lends to his yards after the catch as well. You can tag him as an athlete if you want, but Team Georgia will have a field day utilizing his soft hands and elite track speed on the parameter come June. (PRZ Next Watchlist)

was another 8th grader that showed elite-level athleticism. Lothan has good length, standing 5’10 and has the ability to make dynamic plays wherever he lines up. He runs crisp routes getting in and exploding out of breaks. He attacks the ball in the air with excellent hands. He also displays the awareness and physicality to also be an elite safety recruit in high school.
