In the last week or so, Georgia was crawling with some big-time spring game matchups. Here, we dive into some submitted spring game tape and break down what we see.

[player_tooltip player_id='661382' first='KJ' last='Smith'] - 2024 - QB - Roswell

This sleeper QB prospect picked up right where he left off last season, posing a very productive half of football against a very talented Walton team. Just like last year, Smith shows excellent fluidity at the QB spot and has the ability to attack all levels of the field. I was intrigued by his unique backpedal drop paired with his ability to quickly climb the pocket. That sudden and efficient forward momentum allows him to add extra velocity and drive on the football. He navigates in and around the pocket very well but is able to throw off-platform when on the move. He threw each pass with excellent timing, rhythm, and location. Smith is still shockingly flying under the radar as a prospect. After the showing he put on in the spring game, I don't think you'll stop hearing about him anytime soon.

Corvin Gillespie - 2024 - LB - East Jackson

Gillespie looks to be an extremely valuable piece of the East Jackson defense and he proved it after taking a look at his spring film. He lines up all over the field and is able to make plays from each spot. He appears to dissect the ball well and reacts quickly to the snap. He can cover a lot of ground and has a knack for getting to the football. Gillespie is utilized at times as a pass rusher, where he shows decent flexibility off the edge and has a high motor. From the looks of it, Gillespie was barking out commands for the defense all night. Gillespie is an underrated LB prospect that is worthy of a look.

Tanner Savasir - 2025 - QB - Cherokee

Savasir broke onto the scene last season and showed some nice flashes during his first year as a starter. As he enters his junior year, he has a good chance to make a name for himself in Georgia. The more I watch Savasir, the more I become enamored with his game. His spring film is the most impressive I have seen him at any point in his career. He has improved each time I've watched him play, which is a great sign. Savasir has always been able to drive the ball down the field, but he was able to put some touch on the ball and drop it right on the money. He threw the ball with enough trajectory to allow his receiver to get under the ball and make a play. He throws off a good base and the ball just naturally flies out of his hand. He can attack all levels of the field and has good mechanics. If everything can click, he is someone worth tracking.

[player_tooltip player_id='646003' first='Austin' last='Hoane'] - 2026 - OL - Lakeside

Hoane is an intriguing 2026 offensive tackle with clear upside. His frame at 6'4 255 is fairly impressive for a freshman, and he is certainly not done growing. I like his length and some of his physical attributes, but I was impressed with his willingness to get downfield and take on contact. For a younger prospect in the early stages of his physical development, this is a good sign. Hoane's hand placement and timing were also impressive. Once he adds more muscle to those longer arms, he could really use his length and punch to create leverage against the defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='401495' first='Duke' last='Condie'] - 2026 - DE - Alpharetta

Condie is an impressive youngster on the Alpharetta defensive front that held his own in the spring game against a stout Gainesville squad. Condie is a physical prospect with strong hands and a high motor. With his sheer effort alone, he can will his way to get free and get after the QB. He is nimble enough to slip by blocker but he is also stout enough to flatten angles and set the edge. Condie plays mostly at DE, but there are some clips where he drops back to a more traditional LB spot. He can play well in space and is a physical force. Wherever you line him up, you can bet that he will scratch and crawl to make some plays.
