– Prime example of what the modern day Tight End position has evolved into. A field-stretching route-runner with impressive 6-foot-4, 205 pound size and is tough to defend no matter what defensive position is tasked with covering him
– Played for an extremely loaded Bishop Gorman Jr. Gaels team this past fall in Nevada. The Jr. Gaels played in what is easily the best youth league in all of Nevada, the NYS League
– My eye was drawn to him after watching the film of Thaddeus Thatcher two weeks ago, who I’ve stamped as the top QB in this 2027 class in Nevada. The 1-2 punch will both be at Arbor View High School in the fall
– I’ve listed Gaines as an Athlete at this point because of the film I’ve seen of him as a wide receiver and defensive back. However, with the way this kid can hit, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him play some variation of Linebacker or Rover down the line
– Listed right around 6-foot and 175 pounds (unverified) he plays with the hammer and force of an in-box safety but is athletic enough to cover on an island. Offensively, has the quickness and upper body strength to fight through attempted jams and get a step on the defensive back covering him
– While Gaines lives in Mississippi, he’s right on the state line and will actually be attending Vidalia High School in Louisiana for the next four years. Hopefully he helps provide a spark for a program that is coming off a 6-5 season, just its the third winning season in the last 15 years
– Like Zac Fares Zac Fares 6’5″ | 210 lbs | TE Arbor View | 2027 State NV (listed above) we head back to Nevada and the Bishop Gorman Jr. Gaels program for another big athlete in Ryder Wilkinson Ryder Wilkinson 6’3″ | 170 lbs | WR Arbor View | 2027 NV . At 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds (unverified) there’s a lot of potential in him overall
– Wilkinson has a lot of film as a Wide Receiver and some additional film in the secondary, as an outside linebacker and a defensive end. Getting in the weight room and continued physical maturation will transform him, since he’s on the leaner side right now
– Was part of an air assault offense in youth ball that saw him stretch the field vertically. While his hands, size and body control check the boxes as a wide receiver, I think his future is inside as a tight end. Not as fast or twitchy as a big, tall, long wideout should be (at this point). However, as a tight end, he could be come a real problem
Highlights
– First saw Kimble this past December at AYF Nationals in Florida and took note of how physically impressive he looked as a running back prospect
– The Buffalo, New York native is listed as a thick, muscular 5-foot-9 and 185 pounds (unverified) right now. He ran the ball well despite playing for a youth team that didn’t have much size upfront at all. A self-creator who can jitter bug around guys in open field or put his shoulder down and run them over
– While Buffalo isn’t exactly the recruiting hot bed that Atlanta or Miami is, the college attention is starting to bubble for Kimble. He’s already visited Syracuse and Rutgers, in addition to already receiving a camp invite from Penn State for this summer
– Talk about upside and insane potential, 2027 Athlete Maurice Davis Maurice Davis 6’4″ | 170 lbs | ATH Glassboro | 2027 NJ could be just a a year away from becoming one of New Jersey’s most sought-after recruits. The younger brother of former two-time National Champion at Alabama and current five-year NFL vet, Anthony Averett
– Davis is listed at 6-foot-4 and 165 pounds (unverified) right now. While I don’t know if he’s that tall, he’s certainly at least 6-foot-2 with length and a frame that should have recruiting coordinators drooling at the next level
– Having played wide receiver, tight end and defensive end over his pre-high school ball, he’s off to Glassboro High School next year. While his build will certainly dictate things, I see the two-sport standout (basketball) moving inside a bit and really focusing on the tight end position
