The next three months figure to be busy in that regard. So let's take a look at where the state's top prospects stand as the temperatures and recruitments begin ramping back up.

Check out the top 10 below, and stay tuned for Nos. 11-30.

No. 1 [player_tooltip player_id='139482' first='Tylen' last='Singleton'] — 6-2, 200 DB — Many

The top-ranked prospect in Prep Redzone Louisiana's most recent 2024 update is enjoying a string of visits to TCU, Tennessee and Arkansas and soon a return trip to LSU. Those programs, Notre Dame, Oregon, Texas A&M and Ole Miss have been among the most notable to watch in pursuit of the standout safety/linebacker.

No. 2 [player_tooltip player_id='421603' first='Dominick' last='McKinley'] — 6-7, 270 DL — Acadiana

The Wreckin' Rams' wrecking crew of a defensive lineman has seen his recruitment explode in recent months since an impressive junior campaign. And while McKinley feels like one of the next notable Louisiana prospects for him LSU will primarily be battling familiarSEC foes Alabama, Georgia and Texas A&M to keep in-state, other programs such as the incoming SEC duo of Texas and Oklahoma, Deion Sanders-led Colorado and most recent offer Oregon are among a long list of suitors.

No. 3 [player_tooltip player_id='139477' first='Wardell' last='Mack'] — 6-1, 180 DB — John Ehret

LSU, Alabama, Texas A&M and Florida State had been the programs most heavily tied to the John Ehret star throughout his recruitment, with a recent trip to Florida appearing to move the Gators more notably into that mix. Teammate Khayree Lee in one of the home-state Tigers' first commitments for the class and a vocal recruiter for the class.

No. 4 [player_tooltip player_id='285192' first='Kolaj' last='Cobbins'] — 6-3, 205 LB — Destrehan —> LSU commit

The Wildcats' explosive edge-rusher is one of two players on this top-10 list to have announced a commitment thus far with his early-March pledge to home-state LSU. Texas had also loomed particularly large in his recruitment before making his move with the Tigers. He visited Baton Rouge again this week.

No. 5 [player_tooltip player_id='285194' first='Trey'Dez' last='Green'] — 6-7, 210 ATH — East Feliciana

Green's recruitment has long been one of the most interesting to monitor in Louisiana's 2024 class because of his high-level talent at both football and basketball. LSU has appeared well-positioned with the local standout for the past year, with Colorado recently joining the SEC-heavy list of Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Tennessee among the biggest threats to pull him out of state.

No. 6 [player_tooltip player_id='139261' first='Ju'Juan' last='Johnson'] — 5-11, 180 ATH — Lafayette Christian —> Colorado commit

Johnson became Louisiana's first 2024 prospect to make a commitment announcement in the new calendar year (following a pair of New Orleans standouts in the fall) with his high-profile, early-February pledge to Colorado over LSU, Florida, Georgia, Alabama and a long list of other suitors. Johnson is still the state's only prospect in the class currently committed to any program other than LSU.

No. 7 [player_tooltip player_id='285654' first='Melvin' last='Hills III'] — 6-4, 265 DL — Lafayette Christian

LSU, Alabama and Texas A&M have long highlighted an impressive list of offers for Hills, and Georgia, Tennessee, Texas and Florida State have been among the biggest additions in recent months — with Texas also already drawing a visit. And the Colorado commitment by his teammate, Johnson, would make the Buffaloes another interesting program to keep an eye on.

No. 8 [player_tooltip player_id='285269' first='De'Myrion' last='Johnson'] — 6-3, 280 DL — Westgate

LSU, Alabama and Texas have all pulled top talents from Westgate in recent recruiting classes, and that trio appears to be among the top contenders to watch for the next standout in that lineage with a long list of offers that also includes Texas A&M, Florida, Tennessee, Missouri, Miami, Ole Miss and many more.

No. 9 [player_tooltip player_id='421518' first='Koby' last='Young'] — 6-0, 180 WR — Holy Cross

LSU has figured prominently in the New Orleans speedster since at least last summer when extending the offer, and Tennessee, Mississippi State and Oklahoma have been among other notable programs to garner recent visits.

No. 10 [player_tooltip player_id='675887' first='Da'Shawn' last='McBryde'] — 6-3, 195 DB — Denham Springs

LSU recently became a contender — if not the contender — to watch in the recruitment of the record-setting ballhawk, as the Tigers extended an offer and immediately joined a mix of Tennessee, Mississippi State, Florida State and Texas Tech among his most notable suitors.
