Four more outstanding Texas boys have solidified themselves as impact players on the high school recruiting scene. All from Texas, all high-energy prospects, and all in the top 100. Let's take a look at what the film tells us about each....

SAFETY •5'11" | 170 LBS / CLASS OF 2024 @ LANCASTER | LANCASTER, TX

Lancaster's [player_tooltip player_id='628911' first='Corian' last='Gipson'] is a swiss army knife at the defensive back position. He thrives in the press corner or off-man zone concepts from the safety position. Gipson is a patient defender when in press, maintaining square pads with leverage. This allows him to drive on routes quicker. You can tell on film he is well coached but the way he seeks to finish plays has nothing to do with coaching; all guts and heart. He is rumored to be leaning towards Austin Texas...

SAFETY •6'0" | 178 LBS / CLASS OF 2024 @ DUNCANVILLE | DUNCANVILLE, TX

Gipson is a heat-seeking missile in the backend. This kid just gets it when it comes to run support from the safety position. His instincts to locate and neutralize the ball carrier are impeccable. Playing for the "School of Champions" at Duncanville High School doesn't hurt when it comes to introducing yourself nationally as a playmaker. Gipson thrives in redzone packages and is elite at jarring the ball loose from unsuspecting receivers at the apex of their routes. LSU is believed to be the frontrunner for his future services. Keyword; believed.....

RUNNING BACK •5'11" | 192 LBS / CLASS OF 2024 @ VETERANS MEMORIAL | SAN ANTONIO, TX

Veterans Memorial's #20 is a difference maker from the backfield. People will never be found being brought down from behind or with arm tackles. In fact, I'd center to say that he is more committed to breaking the tackle than most defenders are to making the tackle. He seeks to take every play to the house on film. Peoples is a straight line one cut-and-go type of back that possesses a little wiggle when needed. He reminds me of the high school version of Arian Foster. This Fall season should be a big one for the 5'11 192 pounder...

OFFENSIVE GUARD •6'6" | 275 LBS / CLASS OF 2024 @ TOMPKINS | KATY, TX

Texas A&M commit [player_tooltip player_id='419126' first='Ashton' last='Funk'] brings the funk and nasty to the guard position. At 6'6 one would assume that Funk would play the tackle position. However, the ability to bend and pull with leverage combined with speed allows the mountain of a player to work his magic in close quarters. He is a pancake machine that seems to love finishing off plays. If he continues to develop the way that his tape suggests, look for the Aggies in College Station to have found themselves a future anchor in Funk.
