Lets take a look at some of the top defensive performers from this past weekend. The camp produced some gems that are assured to play on Saturday mornings in the near future.
Elijah Hale was a blip on the radar at the Prep RedZone camp in Ft Worth Sunday evening. Hale showed off skills as a two-way player possessing equal ability to lose a defensive back while running routes and in like measures lock a receiver up in press or zone concepts. This kid had arguably the fastest start/stop burst ability on the Nolan Catholic field Sunday. His playmaking ability landed him as one of the ones to watch coming out of Sunday’s competition.
D’Auvieun Green-Williams was labeled as “Mr. Straps” by coaches for his ability to be coachable and to execute what he was coach up on. DGW was a smooth defensive back that transitioned well into ball breaks. He showed a high IQ and understanding of what the receiver was trying to accomplish with his body posture. There is a difference between coverage and blanket coverage and with the performance DGW put on; you can tell he will be putting many receivers to sleep in the Fall.
Jalen and DeSean Davis DeSean Davis 6'5" | 215 lbs | DL Dallas HSAA | 2024 State TX are two long athletic twin defensive ends who earned outstanding defensive lineman awards for Sunday’s outing. Both are listed at 6’6 and around 215 pounds. With wide shoulders, long arms, and a crazy burst; these two twin towers were giving the left and right tackles fits in drills. Both possessed the ability to extend and bend while also pulling a few spin moves out of the bag occasionally. Look for these two class of 2024 studs to explode for their senior campaign.
Arthur Hebert shines Sunday at guard and defensive tackle earning him an outstanding lineman award. The big fella was able to show sheer power at the point of contact along with fiery feat. He had no problems resetting his hands after moves and always maintained comfortable leverage. Hebert looks the part and performed up to the expectation of how he looked. The ability to play both sides of the ball will serve his recruiting process well going forward.
