Commitment season is in full swing, and this week we saw multiple peach-state prospects make their college commitments

The Cedar Grove Saints are one of the best programs in Georgia t producing high-level D1-caliber cornerbacks, and Roland is the next in line. The Ellenwood native has lengthy frame at 6-foot-1 175-pounds who knows how to go up and high-point the football, picking off three passes last year and holding his own on an island by himself. A quick-reacting defensive back with good ball skills, Roland showed easy D1 potential all season long as a junior last fall, and after earning offers from multiple D1 programs, the Atlanta-area cornerback decided this week to make his commitment to Maryland over programs like Boston College, App State, Buffalo, among others. He's a big-play cornerback and has his best football ahead of him. He's one of the many talented 2024 cornerbacks in Georgia, and after a 2022 season where the Saints came up on the losing end of the state championship game, look for Roland to help lead the Saints back to another possible championship as a senior next fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='321488' first='Dontrell' last='Glover'] LT - Langston Hughes

The Alabama Crimson Tide have never had a problem coming into the peach-state and landing some of the best Georgia has to offer, and they're off to a terrific start in the 2025 class, now holding commitments from two of the top offensive tackles across Georgia. They recently landed a commitment from Augusta native [player_tooltip player_id='321486' first='Mason' last='Short'], and this week they landed a commitment from another top OT prospect in Langston Hughes tackle, [player_tooltip player_id='321488' first='Dontrell' last='Glover']. The 6-foot-3 290-pounder played left tackle last fall for arguably the best team in the state last year, and blocked for new Ohio State QB Noland "Air" Noland, who led the Panthers to an easy 6A championship last fall. A promising pass-protector who is excellent in the run game, Glover opens up consistent holes on the left side in every aspect of the offense. He bends well and shows impressive footwork for someone his age. He's still raw, as most young players are, but he started every game at left tackle last season as a sophomore and has the meaurables needed to make an impact at the next level. The Crimson Tide only recruit the best of the best of the offensive line, and that's what Glover is.

Daniel James - CB - McEachern

One of the top cornerback prospects in Cobb County, James is a sure-tackling defensive back for his size who knows how to get his man to the ground. A reliable defensive back in coverage as well, James has some length on his frame at 5-foot-11 165-pounds and was one of the breakout defensive back prospects across Georgia in December, adding plenty of impressive D1 offers. After taking an unofficial visit to Cincinnati the weekend of April 7th, James decided to jump on board and commit to the Bearcats, giving them a defensive back with toughness and natural instincts in coverage. There's plenty of room to grow and improve, so the Bearcats' staff has to like his upside and overall potential. Look for James to have a big senior season at McEachern next season before taking his talents to Cincinnati.

One of the top interior DL prospects in Georgia is off the board. Big, physical interior lineman [player_tooltip player_id='635687' first='Ameir' last='Glenn'] of Langston Hughes is coming off an incredibly productive junior season, helping lead the Panthers on defense all the way to a 6A state championship in 2022. The offers started rolling in left and right this month, but after careful consideration, the game-wrecking defensive tackle decided to make his college commitment to Wake Forest. Ranked as the No. 12 defensive line prospect in the state, the thick, powerful 6-foot-2 315-pound defensive tackle was tough to block all season long, totaling 125 tackles, 6 TFLs and three sacks last fall. He shows plenty of strength in his upper body and shows quick, violent hands, making him tough to grip and drive backwards for opposing offensive linemen. He plays with great leverage and can collapse the pocket with ease from the inside. He's an excellent run defender, shooting gaps and closing running lanes. He's a winner, and he'll bring his productivity to the ACC for the Demon Deacons in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='165725' first='Martavious' last='Collins'] - Rome

A one-time Alabama commitment, the big 6-foot-3 240-pounder out of Rome decided to stay in the state of Alabama, but now he's committed to play for the Auburn Tigers. A major weapon in the passing game due to his size and big hands, Collins is one of the top 2024 tight end prospects in Georgia who will give the new Auburn staff a boost for the future. They are in need of big tight ends who can help catch passes down the field, and that's what Collins with bring to the Tiger's offense. He's been a multi-year starter for a major Rome Wolves program over the years and will play a major role once again as a senior in 2023.
