So much that the leader in Amatuer Sports(AAU), has taken a big step to get its first of many more to come New England 7v7 Tournaments held in New England. In this report, we will cover the rising prospects who stood out at this tournament that drew teams from Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, and Massachusetts to a central location to compete. The event was a huge success and ran smoothly throughout the entire two days. I can easily see this Spring Tournament event will become a premier event that many national 7v7 programs will want to attend in the future. The recruits below are listed in no specific order. Here is Part 3
Anderson Amparo Anderson Amparo 5’10” | 145 lbs | ATH Worcester South | 2024 State NewE (7v7 Program – Outlawz) He is ranked as our #35 athlete in New England region for the 2024 class . His athletic skill set stood out on the day. His field vision and awareness is a special trait. He has very good athletic coordination and his quickness in his breaks are smooth. Standing at 5’10 he brings a solid lean frame with room for growth potential seen. His hands are reliable along with his physical presence that was seen on defensive coverages throughout the day.
Highlights
Edy Soares Edy Soares 5’10” | 170 lbs | ATH Shea | 2025 NewE (7v7 Program – BTP Behind the Pads) A gifted athlete who is slowly making a name for himself. He has excellent technique and his back pedal is smooth combined with loose hips to turn and open in either direction. Soares was on lock down the entire day and defined excellent blanket coverages. He can play press man coverage with good hand use at the line of scrimmage.
He should grab college coaches attention during the 2023 summer college camp season. It may come down to his combine numbers to see what college level takes interest.
Highlights
Malachi Mcclean Malachi Mcclean ATH Thayer Academy | 2024 State NewE (7v7 Program – NOS Elite) He is a twitchy prospect who shows high level quickness and experience in his skills. Stands approximately 5’10” with very good speed. His defense play showed his ability to flip his hips instantly with quickness and fluid movement. He can play press man coverages and has the speed to recover from being over aggressive and or beat off the line of scrimmage. He is physical when needed and he has high confidence within his abilities. Plays fast and smart!!!
Jamie Andrews Jamie Andrews 6’2″ | 170 lbs | WR Bridgeton Academy | 2024 NewE (7v7 Program – NOS Elite) This young man should make some noise next year as a PG at Bridgeton Academy. He will likely need to pack on some additional body weight with lean muscle, but his overall offensive skills are of higher quality. The athletic traits about “Andrews” that really makes him stand out, is his ability to bend and his secure hands. He is long, and flexible recruit who is known to make difficult catches happen. If the ball is in his area of reach, he will lay out for it and win the battle to come down with the ball. His YAC is always good and he finishes his runs with good lean and desire to get in the end zone. His size alone makes him a very good target.
Christensen Paul Christensen Paul 5’8″ | 150 lbs | WR Bridgeton Academy | 2023 NewE (7v7 Program NOS ELITE) He is another prospect that should make noise next year as a PG at Bridgeton Academy. “Paul” his overall athleticism is what stood out to me on the day. He may have missed a few assignments during battle, but with good development, he is one that could be dynamic next season. He stands at 5’8″ but with very good athletic potential. His athletic skill set and speed is of higher level and can easily be identified as a player. He can bend, turn quickly with loose hips, has a smooth back pedal and he can run in a fluid motion that displays his speed potential. He can play the slot on offense or be a threat in the running game on the outside perimeter. Has an impressive vertical for a smaller frame athlete.
