The OL group was a strong one at Saturday's Palmetto Combine Series West senior session at Westside High School. Here's a look at a few guys who stood out during drills and the competition phase of the session.

[player_tooltip player_id='1142430' first='Watson' last='Young'], Daniel

Young certainly looked the part on Saturday morning, coming in at 6-2 and a half and 271 pounds with a 76-inch wingspan. He showed some explosiveness with a leap of 8.9 feet in the broad jump, but drills and competition are where Young really showed out. He battled a ton of the state's top DL, and won a bunch of those matchups, claiming the OL MVP award.

Lonnie Blassingame, Wren

It's hard NOT to notice Blassingame, who rolled in at 6-2 and a half, 396 pounds, with an 80-inch wingspan. It was even harder not to notice him in drills. Blassingame is fluid and strong, moves well, and does a good job using his hands and that reach to neutralize pass rushers.

Nick Hatten, Westside

Hatten, competing on his home field, put on a good show. at 6-1 and 340 pounds, Hatten looked especially good at guard. He won a couple of battles simply with handfighting techniques, showed good feet against the pass rush, and has plenty of power to go with a physical streak.

Bryson Childs, Ninety Six

Childs was one of the lightest linemen on hand at 223 pounds, but played well above that weight. He does a good job using his leverage, and competed well against a number of DL considerably bigger. He'll be a key component as the Wildcats transition to a run-heavy attack.
