Offseason Program Profiles: Minersville Battlin Miners

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>2022 Recap:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It was a quality year for the Miners and head coach Justin Frantz in 2022, going 6-5 including 5-4 finishing third in the Colonial-Schuylkill conference. It marked the fourth consectuive season of .500 or better play for the Battlin' Miners after several tough seasons. Under Frantz, the Battlin' Miners have become one of the tougher teams to play in the entirety of the Colonial-Schuylill conference. Last year, they picked up wins over Marian Catholic, Shenandoah Valley, Williams Valley, Panther Valley, Schuylkill Haven, and Nativity BVM. After starting the season 4-1, they went through a tough stretch, losing three straight against Pen Argyl, Catasauqua and Palisads before recovering in their final two regular season games. Their season came to an end in the playoffs in a 24-13 loss to Tri-Valley. RB [player_tooltip player_id='91554' first='Luke' last='Stevenosky'] should be one of the best running backs in the Colonial-Schuylkill conference while they return as well key wide receivers Lorenzo Yourey and Logan Hutzko and several offensive linemen. On the defensive side of the ball, cornerback Blake Wesler returns as Stevenosky was also a key player defensively a year ago as well as Cade Schultz and another rising freshman in Matthew Dube. Don't be surprised if the Miners are much improved next fall. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
