From wideout to offensive line, here are some ballers who stuck out to me amongst a very skilled and competitive group.
Archbishop Bergan’s Colbey Butts Colbey Butts 6’3″ | 175 lbs | WR Archbishop Bergan | 2024 State NE was one of the first athletes to stick out to me before the camp started. Standing at right around 6’3, Colbey has the ideal frame to be a dominant exterior receiver at any level of competition. Not only did Colbey pass the eye test, but his performance through the testing and individual portion of the showcase proved that he can be an absolute problem on the field. Colbey is a smooth runner with strong top-end speed and big play-making ability. Along with that, Colbey has natural ball skills that can quickly make him a quarterback’s favorite target. Colbey is a playmaker to look out for as he makes his way into his senior year. After watching him work, I would not be surprised to see his recruiting profile begin to heat up heading into the summer.

Millard West’s Keaton Valdez Keaton Valdez 6’5″ | 295 lbs | OL Millard West | 2025 NE is an offensive lineman that caught my eye before camp. With a big 6’5 and 295-pound frame, Keaton has the build to be a dominant force in the trenches in the years to come. One of the most impressive things that I saw from Keaton is that he can bend and move well for his size. Keaton proved to be a controlled puller through drills and did a great job of demonstrating his ability to get downhill to second-level defenders. In pass protection, Keaton showed that he can remain patient and under control in pass protection and found ways to win against some tough competition. Overall, Keaton is an offensive lineman that has huge upside, and it is going to be exciting to watch him continue to develop in the trenches next football season.
Ahman Langton Ahman Langton 6’0″ | 160 lbs | WR MOC-Floyd Valley | 2025 State IA is a wideout out of Moc-Floyd Valley that impressed me as things got rolling at camp. Standing at 5’10, Ahman has the ideal frame and ability to be a dynamic receiver who dominates in the slot. At the start of individual drills, Ahman quickly demonstrated his athleticism and change of direction. As he worked through his routes, Ahman showcased quick and easy cuts that made it almost impossible for any defensive back to defend. Ahman also made a habit of making some impressive grabs during camp. With his unique combination of ball skills and athleticism, Ahman is a wideout to keep tabs on heading into the upcoming season. From what I saw from him, big things are coming for Ahman in the future.

Landon Kelley Landon Kelley 5’10” | 160 lbs | DB Lincoln Southwest | 2025 State NE from Lincoln Soutwest is a defensive back that showed out at camp yesterday. The 5’9 and 155-pound ball hawk proved to be one of the best in the defensive back group. Watching him work through individual drills, Landon made it clear that he has some of the best change of direction and has no problem driving into a sprint after back peddaling. Landon also proved to be able to flip his hips quickly and accelerate with who ever he was covering naturally and effectively. In coverage, Landon seemed to have a nose for the football and had no problem tracking and breaking up passes that came his way. With everything that I saw from him, Landon is clearly a defensive back to be excited about in this upcoming season. If he keeps this up, he will continue to be a nightmare for quarterbacks around the state of Nebraska.
