Ezekiel is going to have a really good year on the defensive line for Timberline. He has great hands when rushing the quarterback, using great technique to blow by the offensive lineman. He has great balance and utilities it well on the field. He’s very athletic and explodes off the line extremely well. Keep an eye on him this upcoming season.
Efren is very athletic and causes a lot of havoc on the defensive end. He racked up 26 sacks to go along with 154 tackles over the last 2 seasons. He is able to keep his feet moving, driving offensive lineman into their own quarterback many times. He does a fantastic job during run plays, containing the running back when he runs to his side before he is able to get to the next level of the defense. He was named all league defensive end for a reason and will have an even bigger senior season.
Highlights
Fernando has been a rising prospect over the last year since his sophomore year started. He has continued to grow his game on the field and is only getting better still. While being able to line up anywhere on the defensive line, Reyes stands out to me when he’s rushing from the edge. His reaction time is quick, often bursting into the offensive line extremely quickly. He’s got great strength, as not many offensive lineman have been able to hold him in place and control him. Yet, I don’t think we’ve seen the best from him.
Highlights
Zaydrius lines up at the OLB position but still rushes the quarterback quite a bit. He racked up 4 sacks to go along with over 50 tackles last year and he was just a sophomore. He has an insane motor, one of the best in his class. He will relentlessly attempt to get to the quarterback, or stop the running back from getting past him. He closes in on the ball carrier very well using his speed to his advantage. I’m excited to see what he puts on display this season.
