DE/OLB Alfred Wilkerson – 6’4″ 230 / Cooper HS — @AlfredDeshon52
As a Junior: 2nd Team All-State / 120 tackles, 7 for loss, 3 sacks
Wilkerson is exactly the type of prospect that you want to take a chance on. He’s a long, athletic pass rusher that moves well in space and knows how to get into the backfield. While he does dominate at the 2A level here in the Lone Star State, he is quite the unfinished product. With that being said, all of the raw tools are there. He has prototypical size, long arms, and moves well for a 230 pounder. The thing that stands out on film, is that he excels against both the pass and the run. His high motor means that offensive tackles can’t take a play off when Wilkerson is on the field. When September comes around, look for him to improve on what was a stellar Junior season.
Once he gets into a college strength program and consistently does performance work, he will blossom.
DT Ivion Jordan – 6’3″ 280 / Cleveland HS — @ivion9
Jordan is an elite interior run-stuffer who should have a big senior season for the Indians. He’s low at the snap, stays active with his hands, and wins with a very impressive bull rush. What really stands out, however, is that he is very stout and doesn’t get pushed out of his gap. When the play bounces outside, he flashes some nice wheels and is able to work his way to the sideline and make a play on the ball carrier. He will need to make some strides as a pass rusher to get the attention of coaches state-wide, but he is certainly a prospect to have on your board.
DE Jaxson Maynard – 6’3″ 230 / Smithson Valley HS — @JaxsonMaynard1
A blue collar workhorse along the Rangers’ defensive line, Maynard has proven himself to be an outstanding pass rusher. He’s not overly flashy with anything he does on the field, but he is a guy who consistently wins one-on-one matchups with offensive linemen and creates havoc. His motor is always on, he’s technically sound, and is always positioned to make a play.
Currently has an offer from Texas A&M-Commerce.
DE Martin Carreon Jr. – 6’3″ 250 / Cypress Falls HS — @ShowtimeHeights
As a Junior: 45 tackles, 4 sacks
Carreon is an active interior lineman who really pops on film. He’s a long prospect who uses his length to create separation from linemen and make life uneasy for running backs. When engaged one-on-one, he uses a nice spin move to work his way into the backfield. If he can add some weight between now and August, he will really turn some heads on the gridiron this fall.
An under the radar defensive line prospect who looks primed and ready to help the Eagles to their second consecutive playoff berth in 2023.
