Tate Box, LB, Canyon, 2025
I fell in love with his film as soon as I watched the first play. This young man has some good footwork. He knows how to read keys very well. He can also be a big factor when playing zone coverage. Box isn’t a guy who can be easily confused. You can tell that he loves to watch film. It’s obvious because of how quick he reacts to plays. Box gets it done when he is at linebacker. He is a general that loves to lead. Won’t many plays get around him without him getting his hands on the runner. He also can provide pressure in his team’s pass rush.
Copelin Windfont, Crosby, 2025
This young man is a run stopper. He has a great way of adjusting to plays when he is at LB. He is a great assistant to his teammate that stands next to him at linebacker. Windfont loves to come up and make stops on the run. He is going to get blockers out of his way. He has good size standing at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds. Windfont also can do well when playing zone coverage. This young man is a very sound tackler. He is one to keep up with.
Samuel Wright, Paetow, 2026
Wright has a lot of upside. He is just a freshman. The ceiling is very high for this young man. He already reads keys like an upperclassmen. He also gets a very good head start. Wright does a great job of getting behind his shoulder pads when he makes tackles. He isn’t a guy out there looking to make arm tackles. He does a great job of breaking down to make open field tackles. Wright also has some good hands. He is definitely a guy that needs to be kept up with.
Tai’Yion King, Port Arthur Memorial, 2026
This young man is a vicious hitter. You don’t want your son meeting him in the hole unannounced. This young man is going to be a beast as he gets older. The better he learns how to read, the more dangerous he is going to become. When he makes a tackle you can feel the boom from watching the tape. He trains and works hard to be a good linebacker. This young man is definitely a division one player. He has the natural instincts you want your linebacker to have.
