If you thought we were done after one article then you are just like me and need to dive further into the 8 man scene here in WI. We are back for another edition of the top athletes that will be taking the field in the 8 man league across WI this fall. This group is looking just as good as the kids in Part 1. Make sure they are on your radar. This level of football is going to see kids make it to the college level of competition. Let’s see who made this list.
We see some huge numbers come out of the 8 man league every year. I have a feeling one of those big time producers this fall is going to be Braden Sitte Braden Sitte 6’3″ | 175 lbs | ATH Gibraltar | 2024 State WI . The 6’2″ 175 lbs WR/CB has next level talents. Right off the back when you turn on the junior highlights you get to see how well he tracks the ball and adjusts to it. Then you get to see his hand eye coordination to make the twisting catch and the body control to keep his feet in bounds. In one play you got to see some of his best talents. Then just let it continue to roll and watch each trait be further verified by more and more plays. Braden also has the athleticism, the speed, to play at the next level. Get ready for him to take off this fall.
Marshall Maltby
Marshall Maltby
Marshall instantly stands out on tape with his next level sized frame. The 6’4″ 225 lbs junior is the type of athlete you need in the middle of the defense. Especially at the 8 man level. He is the type of athlete who can roam and control the middle of the defense on his own. He can fight across blocks to get to the path of the ball carrier. He attacks downhill and mirrors ball carriers, meeting them in the running lane for little or no gain. The big man has solid range from the ILB position as well. Keep an eye on him this fall. He has a strong chance at being the top defender in the league.
Bryce Leffler
Bryce Leffler
The 6’1″ 240 lbs DL was a menace to backfields in 2022. He finished with an insane 16.5 sacks. The big man is light on his feet and has active hands. Those hands are weaponized with solid pass rush moves that quickly shed blocks. Leffler has impressive speed for his size too, and that allows him to make chase down plays all over the backfield. A high motor is key to that success, and Bryce has it. Leffler is also a bulldozing OG on the OL. He will put kids in the dirt when he pulls. D3 and maybe even D2 programs need to have the two way lineman on their radars.
Evan Tratz
Evan Tratz
Evan is a fun RB to watch. He has that knack for making big plays out of nothing. He plays with a patience that allows him to make decisions based off what he sees instead of just plowing into the line. The young playmaker has the vision to find those hidden lanes too. I was impressed with his jump cuts in traffic and between the tackles to put himself in better position to beat pursuit angles. Tratz also has enough speed to create those long runs when he gets into the open field. Wild Rose is going to be looking for a new top guy to step up on offense after WR Brett Mueller Brett Mueller 5’10” | 170 lbs | WR Wild Rose | 2023 State WI graduates. Look for Tratz to be that guy on the ground.
We end this article with a sophomore TE that already looks the part of a next level TE at 6’3″ 225 lbs. Wild Rose is going to need the big man to step up this year after the graduation of WR Brett Mueller Brett Mueller 5’10” | 170 lbs | WR Wild Rose | 2023 State WI . King has the talent to take over. His body control allows him to run smooth routes. He uses his body pre-catch to protect the ball, and post catch to make himself tough to drag down. By his senior season Jayden should have himself planted on the radar of college coaches.
