The biggest hub for Williams County high school football, and the county seat of Williams County is Williston, North Dakota, which has the highest amount of prospects on our list that make Williams County great from a football sense. One of Williston’s biggest natives from a football sense is former NFL and Nebraska offensive linemen is Brent Qvale, who played seven years in the NFL for the Jets, Texans, and Titans up until the 2021 season. Williston is also home to NBA head coaching great, Phil Jackson who I am sure I don’t need to say much more about his resume as a grad of Williston High School as well.
This list of Williams County prospects covers three schools: Williston, Ray-Powers Lake, and Tioga. We unfortunately could not find any tape on Trenton, who plays 6-man football and had stud athlete and Dickinson State commit Nate Norby at the helm last season. This list of 12 prospects fires thru prospects that have offers at the Division I level, and a huge plethora of hidden gems!
Williston (11AA)
Isiah St. Romain Isiah St. Romain 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Williston | 2024 State ND , WR/DB, Williston (2024) Twitter
Coming off a North Dakota State Bison offer here recently, Isiah St. Romain Isiah St. Romain 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Williston | 2024 State ND is the top prospect from the Williston Coyotes by far as a top 10 overall prospect in North Dakota. Isiah is the greatest defintion of a swiss-army knife offensively as the Coyotes use his big-play instincts from just about any offensive skill spot when you watch his tape, but the next-level in my eyes paints him at wide receiver. Isiah has such excellent long-field strides, as his burst runs its course as the Coyotes biggest playmaker on the outside. He also has excellent awareness on both sides of the field, as when I first evaluated Isiah well over a year ago, I thought he was Western North Dakota’s best kept secrets, but not anymore as I would expect plenty of Division I schools to get on this young man before the end of the summer.
Nykolaus Snyder Nykolaus Snyder 5'10" | 200 lbs | LB Williston | 2024 State ND , LB, Williston (2024) Tape
I have evaluated Nykolaus somewhat recently on our site, and it still stands true how much I love how well this kid pops into the heart of the A-gap to stop the run quickly with the physicality he offers in his 5’10 200 pound frame. Somehow he continuously gets missed by the offense causing Nykolaus to use his visionary instinct to get downhill quickly to the ball carrier. His football IQ is loaded as this is a middle linebacker prospect I hope to see in a live-evaluation setting this summer at camps in the summer as a prospect that is way under the radar and needs camp to show off how many skillsets he offers at the next level. Someone find me this young man’s Twitter, as I think he could take advantage of our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase with the college coaches in attendance!
Matt Goodman Matt Goodman 6'0" | 220 lbs | OL Williston | 2024 State ND , OL/DL, Williston (2024) Twitter
Matt shows off a nasty first step as a versatile offensive linemen, that shows off plenty of positon flexibility at right guard or right tackle at the next-level. He shows some quick strides with his feet as a pulling guard that shows off strong drive-blocking skillsets and pad-level to know how to pave the best angle for his ball carrier. Do not be surprised to see Matt finishing his blocks consistently on tape, as he has the strength to pop his defender into the next-level when he has control, as a OL that plays hugely bigger than his measurables at 6’0 220 pounds show off. I believe right guard is his best fit as far as the next-level goes and any college weight program could have a lot of fun adding frame this young man once he gets on campus. A great small-school fit at the next level, which should see plenty of action at camps this summer in the Dakotas.
Walker Michael, RB/LB, Williston (2024) Twitter
Walker is a two-way threat on both sides of the ball that shows off some promising upside going into his senior season from both spots. As a north-south running back, I like the agile movement Walker shows off between the tackles and I certainly see this growing this offseason to show off more turn in his hips by the 2023 season. I also love this kid’s football IQ at linebacker, as he has the awareness to know when to press the gas into the backfield to create plenty of pressure on the ball carrier. With his 5’11 165 pound frame, you can tell with his weight room numbers and what you see on tape that Walker certainly has the durability to at times cause the run defense to bring an army so they can bring him to the turf. I see Walker playing linebacker at the next-level, as that versatile knowledge he has on both sides of the ball also passes the eye test in pass coverage, with the potential for positional flexibility to shift to the secondary in the coming years.
Alex Blume, QB, Williston (2025) Twitter
Alex’s mobility for his age is significantly impressive as this kid can get out of a jam quickly with just how agile he is with his athleticism out of the pocket. Alex also shows off some excellent poise inside the pocket as well, as he shows off a lengthy amount of arm strength with great touch on his deepest routes from his junior season. He also has significant trust built with not just his arm like I mentioned, but with his receiving core as he offers excellent ball placement where only his wide receiver can reach. You will certainly be seeing Alex as a stockriser when the 2025 rankings for North Dakota come out, and looks like another offensive college prospect coming out of the Coyotes program in the coming years.
Kaleb Milton, RB/LB, Williston (2024) Tape
Another prospect that is light on the tape is LB/RB Kaleb Minton who shows off early on tape, that he might not be the biggest linebacker ever seen on tape, but this young man is a fighter with his engagement level. As a special teamer during the 2022, Kaleb consistently shows off that physicality from his game tape as he showed good awareness where the defender is within the field and before he could get an ounce of penetration towards the return man he showed off his consistency as a hard-hitting prospect that although has undersized measurables, he shows how solid his work ethic is on every play and I could see more reps at linebacker this upcoming season.
Braydon Lund, WR, Williston (2024) Twitter
Braydon is extremely light on the tape, but what there is to like from this quick first look is how this kid finishes his intermediate routes, especially around the end zones as he shows off good awareness knowing where his feet are in the back of the end zone. Another small sample size of skillsets I like out of Braydon is his want for the football. It may be a small skill I see on tape, but I love when a wide receiver throws that hand up as it shows how much not only how much he wants the football but has the determination that he sees an opening in the secondary.
Ray-Powers Lake (11B)
Kutter Brown Kutter Brown 5'8" | 160 lbs | DB Ray-Powers Lake | 2025 State ND , DB/RB, Ray-Powers Lake (2025) Tape
Kutter by far is my favorite prospect out this Ray-Powers Lake Outlaws program. He shows some mobile instincts with his change of direction and gets into a good position with his ball-tracing ability to cause troubles for the wide receiver. He also does well popping up into the next level of the field with his good instincts. I also like watching the twitch Kutter has built with his footwork as he dials in his feet with the best angle to get to the football. He has that sideline to sideline instinct that in my eyes is one of the biggest hidden gems Williams County has to offer coming out of Ray-Powers Lake. I need to see more reps in a camp setting to see how well he fares in more significant pass coverage.
Rocker Aguilar, DL, Ray-Powers Lake (2025)
Although he has a small frame for the nose guard position, Rocker showed off just how quick this kid gets off the snap with his quick trigger out of his stance. He also has the range with that size to get to the outside box around the edges. He needs some development with his shedding ability and working to get out of jam, but that is a skillset that can be grown as we look at the Outlaws upcoming 2023 season.
Clayton Grove, DL, Ray-Powers Lake (2024) Tape
Clayton is super light on tape so this evaluation will be similar, however Clayton does show off an athletic bend on the defensive side of the ball and can get his feet set quickly on a defensive audible. He shows off some good pad-level with his hands as uses good angles when penetrating to the football. Hopefully we see more tape from this 6’3 215 pounder in the trenches in the upcoming 2023 season as I liked what I saw from extremely light reps.
Tioga Pirates (9-Man)
Hunter Davis Hunter Davis ATH Tioga | 2024 State ND , WR/DE, Tioga (2024) Tape
Hunter was a recent add to our 2024 North Dakota rankings, as he shows off a wide receiver prospect that shows off a quick trigger with his speed when entering the open field off a quick screen route. His vision on both sides of the ball has some solid traits as a EDGE rusher Hunter makes quick work with his twisting agility to get into the backfield. Hunter is a prospect that can dominate out of first contact with his durable skillsets especially on one-man coverage as this kid has a quick accelerator within his gas pedal. I could certainly see this kid as a fit at the NAIA level at Dickinson State, Mayville State, Jamestown, Valley City State amongst others in North Dakota. Another prospect on this list we need to get on Twitter as he looks like a hidden gem coming out of Tioga.
Kasey in my eyes is an athlete with just the length of his strides he shows off on light tape from last season. He has some slingshotting speed that has significant stamina in his speed with his pull-away ability from the defense. Wide receiver looks to be his best position fit, as he has long arms and a good-sized catch radius that shows good balance from the light reps around the edges of the field and has some raw yet promising creativity with his route-running ability. Another prospect I could not find on social media, but should have a solid upcoming senior season for the Pirates.
Trenton (6-Man): No Tape available.
