Bulabalavu’s picked up his first six offers from Arizona, Washington, Utah, Cal, ASU, and Colorado St. this offseason. The junior DT was a game-wrecker for Army-Navy leading San Diego in sacks with 22.5. He’s a powerful athlete that explodes into the backfield and creates negative plays in the pass and run game. He’s a strong block-shedder and continues to develop athletically. Bulabalavu’s one of the top defensive talents in San Diego and should continue to generate P-5 interest.
The top EDGE prospect in San Diego has added offers from Oregon St. and Utah St. this month. He’s an explosive athlete with a quick first step and great range for his position. He had a breakout junior season (6 sacks/18 TFLs) that culminated in 10 offers and should continue to raise stock as he fills out and develops his pass-rush skillset. White has visits to Arizona, ASU, and Washington scheduled in April.

McClellan’s the top returning piece from Carlsbad’s talented 2022 DL unit. He’s a wiry DE at 6’4” that uses his length and active hands effectively at the LOS. He tends to get a bit high out of his stance and could generate more power with better pad level/leverage. He’s disciplined as a cutback defender and active in the run game. McClellan’s drawn some interest at the Mountain-West level and should see plenty of opportunities to produce and put together strong senior film.

Viavia’s a strong, physical DT with good lateral mobility and short-area burst. He’s most effective shedding blocks with violent hands and tracking down ball-carriers in the run game. He possesses the upper-body strength to rip and pull blockers off him and utilizes an effective swim move at the LOS. Viavia’s a budding DT prospect that should be one of the top run-game defenders in San Diego next season.
Highlights
Boynton’s a relentless DT that’s disruptive in the A/B gaps. He shoots through gaps and smothers ball-carriers in the backfield. He can split and get skinny through double-teams but would like to see him more assertive with his hands and leg drive in 1v1 situations. He finished among the top leaders in TFL (40) and sacks (16) in San Diego last season. Boynton figures to be one of the most productive DTs in the area again and could start to attract interest if he continues to add mass to his 6’0”/255 lb. frame.
