IOWA CITY, Iowa - When I began tracking high school football in this state, it didn't take long figuring which players held FBS-level offers. That's because there weren't many prospects fitting that description back in 1997.

Times sure have changed, and for the better. Plenty of Power 5 schools regularly recruit Iowa.

The 2023 Class is finishing up its senior school year following 17 members signing scholarship offers with Power 5 programs, including Alabama and Penn State. Seven other guys in the cycle are walking on at Power 5s and six Hawkeye State natives signed FCS scholarships.

Not bad for a state with around 3 million people.

Interest is high again in '24. On3 shows 13 in-state juniors with Power 5 offers. 247Sports adds two others with FBS offers.

It's probably a good idea for us to check in periodically with all of the activity in Iowa. We'll call it Red Zone Iowa Offer Tracker. Creative, we know.

[player_tooltip player_id='573561' first='Grant' last='Brix'], OL, Logan-Magnolia

Reported Offers: Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Miami (FL), Missouri, Pittsburgh, Duke, Ole Miss, Penn State, Michigan State, Auburn, Oregon, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Illinois, Northwestern, Minnesota, Kansas, Wisconsin.

Outlook: As you can see by his offer list, Brix (6-6, 270) has some very nice options. Ohio State and Michigan are poking around as well. From a geography standpoint, the Huskers are closest to home, followed by Iowa State, Kansas State and Iowa. If we're counting up campus visits, he's stopped at Nebraska and Kansas State four times each, Iowa State three times and Iowa twice, according to On3. Predictions have him heading to Lincoln, but other schools will keep after this talented prospect until the ink is dry on his NLI.

[player_tooltip player_id='156484' first='Brevin' last='Doll'], RB/ATH, Adel A-D-M

Reported Offers: Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Minnesota, Purdue, Army, Western Michigan, Northern Iowa, Princeton, South Dakota.

Outlook: Doll (6-0, 190) has reported all of his offers since Jan. 26, when Kansas State became the first program in. He could end up playing football and running track in college, having visited Iowa for both sports already this year. He's making the rounds with campus stops this Spring as he sorts through this flurry of opportunities. Crystal balls and other psychics show the Hawkeyes as heavy favorites.

[player_tooltip player_id='247989' first='Drew' last='Campbell'], DL, Cedar Falls

Reported Offers: Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Northern Iowa.

Outlook: The younger brother of 2022 Butkus Award winner Jack Campbell of Iowa, [player_tooltip player_id='247989' first='Drew' last='Campbell'] (6-4, 225) is searching for his best fit. That said, he's visited the Hawkeyes six times and Iowa State once. Drew differs from Jack positionally, but he shares the high motor of his older brother.

[player_tooltip player_id='247958' first='Jacob' last='Simpson'], TE, Johnston

Reported Offers: Missouri, Louisville, Texas Tech, Duke, Vanderbilt, Northern Illinois, Cincinnati.

Outlook: It's a bit puzzling that the two in-state Power 5 programs have not yet offered Simpson (6-5, 210) considering their propensity for utilizing the tight end. Fortunately, coaches outside of Iowa see the athleticism and potential. Maybe the in-state staffs will come around. He's visited Iowa four times, and been to Iowa State, Missouri, Texas Tech and Louisville. More visits are on tap.

[player_tooltip player_id='247970' first='Carson' last='Bruhn'], TE, Sioux Center

Reported Offers: Kansas State, Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota State, South Dakota.

Outlook: Bruhn trimmed his list of prospective schools to three on Friday, naming Kansas, Kansas State and Minnesota finalists. The in-state schools could end up looking silly for not offering this talented tight end, but so far that's the risk they're willing to take. No matter, Bruhn's finalist all are strong programs, all reaching a bowl game last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='156487' first='Titus' last='Cram'], RB/ATH, Bondurant-Farrar

Reported Offers: Iowa, Nebraska, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Kansas, Kansas State, Duke, Minnesota, Missouri.

Outlook: Cram (6-0, 190) has been deliberate and methodical in searching for a college home. His nine Iowa visits are the most, but he's also stopped at Nebraska (3), Iowa State (2), Wisconsin (2) and Kansas State (1). The predictors see the Hawkeyes as the favorite. If they landed him and Doll, that likely would wrap up their running back recruiting in the cycle.

[player_tooltip player_id='204373' first='Kyle' last='Rakers'], OL, Dowling Catholic

Reported Offers: Kansas State, Iowa State, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Northern Illinois, Miami (OH), Cincinnati, UNLV, Tulane.

Outlook: Rakers has steadily collected offers through the process, giving him a nice group of programs from which to choose. He's visited Iowa and Iowa State four times apiece, Kansas State three times, and Kansas and Missouri twice each. Time will tell if the Hawkeyes jump into the mix and how that might change the outlook if they do. As of now, it looks like Iowa State and Kansas State lead the way.

Editor's Note - We will be adding more prospects to this rundown during future installments of this series.
