While the high schoolers went at it on Sunday, it was the middle schoolers that took center stage on Saturday. Here’s a look at the 2027 and 2028 prospects that earned recognition from the staff.
I’ve seen play Ghioto play live in each of the past three months and every time I’ve been impressed. He’s shaping up to be a very good Defensive End prospect, already standing 6-foot-2 and 190-pounds. Played this past season with a lot of eighth and ninth grade athletes, despite only being a 2028 prospect. His selection to the UA Next Game is no surprise. Buy stock on him now.
Highlights
A week after competing in the UA Next camp in Georgia but not coming home with the golden ticket, Schiefer was back at it this past weekend and completed the mission of earning one. The Georgia native crossed state lines and picked up an invite to the UA Next Game as a defensive lineman. Measured in at 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds in January at the PRZ Next camp, while playing Linebacker. A lot of length and upside here.
An early contender for the top Quarterback in the class of 2028, Lawrence was selected to the UA Next game for his performance at camp. Listed at 6-foot and 160-pounds he’s an immediate attention-grabber when walking around at camps and 7v7. Played his regular season with the Plantation Wildcats and is a member of the South Florida Express. One of those youth prospects that is unanimously thought of as a future big time prospect.

A 5-foot-11, 160-pound signal caller out of Naples, Fla., Quinn was selected to the UA Next Game at the conclusion of camp. Athletic and well-put together righty that helped his regular season team to a second consecutive conference championship. His brother Carter, a 2026 prospect at Naples high School, played in UA Next Game in 2022.
Brysen Wright Brysen Wright 6’2″ | 185 lbs | ATH FL is a very intriguing prospect that I was excited to see earn an invite to the UA Next Game. He’s a taller, longer prospect that was selected to the game as a Wide Receiver but looks like he can play a number of different positions on the field. Currently listed as a 2028 prospect, but there is a chance of him re-classing to the class of 2029. Stay tuned here.
Irell Dale
Irell Dale
A good looking athlete coming out of the Lehigh Acres area of Florida, just a half hour from Fort Myers. Dale stands in the neighborhood of 5-foot-10 and has considerable length requisite to his height. Dale was the lone Defensive Back selected to the UA Next Game at the Orlando camp.
A really fun player to watch out of the greater Orlando area, Tony Brown III Tony Brown III ATH FL earned as selection to the UA Next Game for his performance. Known in Central Florida by just one name, his nickname, “Dook”. He’s as quick and shifty as they can come. Possesses that jaw-dropping “made ya miss” agility that drives defensive coordinator’s crazy. Was selected to the game as a Wide Receiver but could see him developing into a lockdown corner, return specialist or do-it-all athlete on offense.
Keihonest Perry
Keihonest Perry
Making the trip from Gainesville to Orlando, Keihonest Perry was the only Running Back selected to the UA Next Game at the camp. Perry, who is better known by Bug, is a shorter back with a good mix of power and agility. Runs low to the ground and has pretty good hands as well.
If I had to make a “Top 3” out of the class of 2028 athletes selected for the UA Next Game at the Orlando Camp, based off ability now and upside, I’d put Jaylon Jones Jaylon Jones 6’1″ | 155 lbs | LB Gadsden County | 2028 FL up there with Asher Ghioto Asher Ghioto 6’4″ | 235 lbs | DL Bolles | 2028 FL and Neimann Lawrence Neimann Lawrence 6’1″ | 175 lbs | QB Ransom Everglades | 2028 FL in that upper echelon. Measured in at 6-foot-1 and 140-pounds with a tremendous frame to add mass to. I’m very high on him from the little I’ve seen. He’s going to be a good one.
What About the 2027’s?
Johnson was back around some familiar faces at the UA Next Orlando camp, as he was named the Linebacker MVP of the camp. The talented 2027 prospect played in the UA Next Game this past January and proved his selection was not a fluke. He’s a talented kid that has grown an inch or two over the last few months and looks to have added some good weight too.
Making the most of his opportunities is something Powell has borderline perfected, as his youth career starts to come to an end. The 5-foot-8, 165 pound 2027 prospect was named the Running Back MVP at the camp. Explosive, agile and fast are the first three words that come to mind when describing his play. He’s already been on a few college visits, with plans to visit UCF (again) and Florida State already locked in.
With an obvious and significant amount of Florida talent on hand in Orlando, Georgia native Waseem Murray Waseem Murray 5’8″ | 140 lbs | ATH Brunswick | 2027 GA put on for Georgia and came home with the Defensive Back MVP award at camp. After a few college visits this past fall, he’s starting to see his stock rise significantly. Stands 5-foot-8 and 140 pounds right now but can absolutely jump out of the gym. I’m not sure what his vertical is, but it has to be one of the best in the nation for 2027 prospects at this point. There’s a lot to be excited about here.
Lastinger was named co-Offensive Line MVP at the Orlando UA Next Camp this past weekend. Though, having watched him play a bit, I feel he’s certainly going to be a Defensive Lineman as he progresses through his development. Was listed at 5-foot-10 and 190-pounds this past season as an eighth-grader on the Fort Meade varsity roster, but looks considerably thicker and bigger than that.

Alvin Johnson III
Alvin Johnson III
Johnson III is another kid I feel I like better on the Defensive Line, but was named co-MVP on the Offensive Line at the camp. Not nearly as big as some of the top tier Offensive Linemen in this 2027 class, but he plays with that dog in him, that people talk about. Relentless effort and fearless attitude is going to help Johnson III reach his ceiling, wherever that may be.
