Making the most of his opportunities is something Powell has borderline perfected, as his youth career starts to come to an end. The 5-foot-8, 165 pound 2027 prospect was named the Running Back MVP at the camp. Explosive, agile and fast are the first three words that come to mind when describing his play. He’s already been on a few college visits, with plans to visit UCF (again) and Florida State already locked in.

Nearly seven months to the day after turning a dazzling performance at The Show in June, Powell was back in a NextGen uniform and did it again. Unquestionably one of the top backs in the country for the class of 2027, he’s a player that will be offered early. He tests off the chart and his on-field ability matches it, or surpasses it. From speed to balance, and finesse to power, there isn’t much he can’t do.

I had the privilege of seeing Powell play live and in person this summer, and the class of 2027 prospect is certainly a prospect to know in Florida. A well-put together 5-foot-8 and 165-pounds, Powell suites up for the Golden Army Carol City Chiefs and takes the field along a number of talented prospects, including Ah’Mari Stevens Ah’Mari Stevens 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna | 2027 State FL and Derrick Baker Derrick Baker 6'2" | 220 lbs | QB Milton | 2027 State GA . Powell is from the greater Orlando area, but plays with the South Florida juggernaut out of Miami-Dade County. He’s not necessarily a burner at this point, clocked at an 11.9 in the 100M and a 5.08 in the 40-yard dash, but he keeps the chains moving. He moves very well laterally, and once he commits to a hole, he gets north and south quickly. It’s a copout to say, “they build ’em different down in Florida”, but Powell is further proof, that they really do.
